It doesn’t *really* matter though because basically all you’re doing is giving him a guaranteed deal through his arbitration years, right?

His big deal is always going to be after that.

The angels, while a joke, played the Trout situation perfectly. Never any ugly arbitration, never a chance for him to walk, win-win for both parties.

I don’t see Acuna as the type to do many favors, and he shouldn’t when it comes to his market value. Wren’s signing of Freddie was a perfect, and I just don’t see that happening with Acuna. FF is so underpaid.
