That is laughable. Their pick is going to be a mid-first round one...exactly who do they expect to draft that late who would be comparable to Richardson? I mean, why in the hell would you trade him????

Not even being a smartass .. they might just think it'll be easier to find impact runners, especially with the shelf life of RBs, than other stuff. They'll probably draft a qb and build the line, maybe. But Ehhh

Might as well be as bad as you can, while also getting another pick. was thinking this as well

Maybe that's it. Especially because today the also announced that this weekend's starting QB will be BRANDON FREAKING HOYER since Weeden is out. My God, what does that say about Jason Campbell?!?

this way they may have a shot at the qb they want, probably teddy, and then another impact trenches guy. Wouldn't be the worst thing ever to MAYBE NOT TRY REACHING for the magical QB and just build the rest of the roster like crazy. Then, when you hit on a good coach and/or qb, you're the Niners.

They also have extra early round picks. Looks like they may go all in on a franchise QB next draft. But whom???

After all this, they're the kind of team that will run out and draft the QB no one has ever heard of but has "unmatched raw talent and ability" out of some NAIA school.

There should be more trades in the NFL for chrissakes.

It's because teams overrate draft picks like ducking crazy.

Wasn't there a rumor a couple years the Pats were offered Steve Smith for two second round draft picks and turned it down?

Still just can 'to bring myself to be sold on him as an NFL QB, a good performance against LSU this year would change that for me though

He can throw. If someone put him in a offense like the Seahawks did with Russell Wilson, he would thrive.

I could see Andy Reid taking a shot on him. And sumlin or other guys may be NFL bound before too long if Kelly does well.

I could actually see Kelly taking a shot at him.

Not better than the five that I previously listed IMO. And some of the stuff that makes the highlights like the one he threw up this weekend against Bama is going to have to be cut out. Yeah plays like that look great, but that ball had just as much of a chance of being intercepted as it did completed. Also, look what LSU did last year when Sam Montgomery and Barkevious Mingo kept him in the pocket the entire second half.

He can still make all the throws. I mean he will have to stop with the occasional crazy play but that is easy to fix. I mean, he made one bad throw and lit up NICK SABAN'S defense. He can ball.

Exactly. The Browns suck. Running backs are mostly fungible; teams have decided that you can get a decent one in the middle rounds, so swapping one who's never done that much for an extra first-round pick makes sense. If the Browns have seen enough to decide that Richardson's not going to be a great back, then the draft pick is worth more.
