I don't know if kickoffs looking this dumb is worth a higher percentage returned.
It's worth the lower injury rate. Kickoffs are the highest per-play injury rate in the sport, all for a play that is a touchback most of the time. If we go away from this kickoff, it should be going to getting rid of the kickoff entirely.
There's a happy medium. The two things I would adjust:
1) Under 2 minutes in the half, touchbacks go to the 25.
2) On onsides kick, the kicking team can get a five-yard head start (like in college)
I think that would fix a lot of problems. Not fair the Giants basically can give up one play and it's in Brandon Autry's range. I would also shrink the goalposts in the NFL to 15 feet, 6 inches. Kickers are too good. 60 yarders were not meant to be hit with consistency.
That’s fair but it’s been money when the chips are down. Let the guards play guard, the center play center and get the two tackles back - everything will look a lot better.Still not sold on the OC. Glad we got the Panthers practice squad dlineman.
Yeah you’re right, difficult to judge when your line is thrown together. Definitely helps thatThat’s fair but it’s been money when the chips are down. Let the guards play guard, the center play center and get the two tackles back - everything will look a lot better.
Two tackles out, center playing LT, LG playing C, RG playing RT. It’s a miracle they’ve blocked any NFL linemen at all.
