The All Things Cycling Thread

Went on a ride today. I'll be happy when I can go and my legs don't feel like they're on fire. I'm happy with the purchase so far. I hate exercising, but at least when I work my ass off getting it up a hill, I get to enjoy the way down.

I still need to buy a couple of things.

Went for a ride yesterday and was going around a curve and some dumbass car came up from behind without slowing behind me and intending to pass through the curve. Well, just so happens that a car was coming from the other direction so he had to swerve back in my lane. I had to lock the brakes and he missed me by about 5-8 feet and I am not exaggerating. Why is the concept of just waiting a few seconds to pass so hard for people to understand?

I've had people pass me uphill in the opposite line and nearly cause a head-on collision. Some extremely impatient people drive cars.

My old Trek comes pretty close... But, unfortunately, you're correct. Your Trek is one that was built here?

It's awesome when cars pass on curves, especially downhill ones.

Just woke up from a nap. I can't move at all. Finished 30th overall, but 4th in my division. Just missed a medal. There were 22 log crossings. I crashed 6 times. Twice I went over the bars. It was fast and dry. I loved the course, besides the logs. I need to analyze my Strava. I was in 10th when I first crashed about 10 feet into the woods... Effectively started in last place. Hauled ass and worked my way through the field. I'm getting better. I may skip the criterium next Monday because I am in rough shape.

I bent the rails on my saddle today, too. Now in search of a replacement saddle. I think I'll just upgrade my seatpost to a Cane Creek Thudbuster while I'm at it.

I wonder what I can get out of my mountain bike. I really, really want a 29'er by July. I can get a 2012 Felt Nine Race for what I think I can get out of my Rocky Mountain and everything is XT.

Official standings show me at 27th place yesterday. Consistent progress.

I am thinking of running Wausau24. A 24 hour race. Each lap is 9 miles. One of the guys from the mtn bike club here won a few years ago. He did 214 miles.
