That's racist!

Has anyone done a poll asking Native Americans how outraged they are that Liz Warren falsely claimed a heritage that wasn't hers for decades and actually benefitted from it? Hell, I'm not even Native American but that pisses me off more than a sports team name. And yet she still remains high on that Democrat leader board. I would love to hear the explanation on why Dems think it's okay for them to be racist while calling out everyone else?

Don't hold your breath for that answer.

And I have no problem with the Redskins changing their name. I can actually see where Native Americans would find it offensive. I suggested the Pigskins in some thread yesterday. Slang for a football, could still refer to them as the Skins, and it ties into the nickname of their O-line from the '80's, the Hogs. Saw where Dwayne Haskins suggested the Redtails. Nickname of the famed Tuskegee Airmen Squadron composed entirely of black pilots. Also not a bad idea, and pays homage to history. Most of the names I've heard kicked around have a DC connection(Senators, Presidents, yada, yada). Think they'd be better off staying away from that. Politicians offend me.

I’m actually big fan of his now and hope that it works out for him

Sometimes I wanna hate him but then he does something and it’s really hard to. He may not be the best quarterback but you have to respect him because he never quits and takes ownership for his mistakes.

OK I am officially offended by the 49ers racist history and will boycott SF....

By 1850, most of the easily accessible gold had been collected, and attention turned to extracting gold from more difficult locations. Faced with gold increasingly difficult to retrieve, Americans began to drive out foreigners to get at the most accessible gold that remained. The new California State Legislature passed a foreign miners tax of twenty dollars per month ($610 per month as of 2020), and American prospectors began organized attacks on foreign miners, particularly Latin Americans and Chinese.

In addition, the huge numbers of newcomers were driving Native Americans out of their traditional hunting, fishing and food-gathering areas. To protect their homes and livelihood, some Native Americans responded by attacking the miners. This provoked counter-attacks on native villages. The Native Americans, out-gunned, were often slaughtered. Those who escaped massacres were many times unable to survive without access to their food-gathering areas, and they starved to death. Novelist and poet Joaquin Miller vividly captured one such attack in his semi-autobiographical work, Life Amongst the Modocs.

Coming from ancestors that were Indians , I can tell you that like anything else in life , you have to look for something to be offended about before you can be . We spent Sunday’s watching the cowboys and the Indians play football , then we went outside and played cowboys and Indians . I must have missed the family members that were offended .

This. My Dads grandfather was full blooded 100% Cherokee. Looked a lot like the amigos I work with every day. Think that makes me 1/8 Injun? I have very dark skin and cannot grow a beard at 43. We played the same way you did ...I made bows and arrows from the same Bush my Mammaw made us pick "switches" from to beat us with. Just needed fishing line, and a pocket knife, and a proper bush/tree with straight branches. My dad taught me how at maybe 5 or 6yo and it was on. I was always an Injun, not a Cowboy. Made my own weapons and relied on camouflage and silence. Was as much fun running around the hollers of Sevier County like a Brave as I ever had anywhere else. My Dads whole side of the family are Braves fans, as are most baseball fans from the SE. Have never heard a single word from any of them regarding those teams mentioned above. They are all Vols through and through...except for 1 traitor cousin I have who likes both UGA and Democrats....

Also, if a minor league baseball team were to bame themselves the Crackers or Honkees , Rednecks etc .....my money says their apparel would be the number 1 seller BY FAR in their league...and would crossover and be worn by many folks like me that would not care a bit if the entire planet simply quit playing baseball tomorrow. Lots of us have the ability to laugh AT ourselves, at stereotypes etc, rather than look for ways to be offended. We are generally only offended by things that actually THREATEN our standards and way of life ....such as Communism, Socialism, Liberal Dimwits in office, Satan, China, etc etc.... pretty much everything else we can either laugh at, laugh with, or ignore altogether and go about our business. Sadly several posters here are caught up in those bad things on the list...

The fact that things like Confederate flags are “everything in American history and culture” to you is telling
It is! I had 8 relatives fight under that flag including 3 great-great grandfathers and luckily they survived that I can be here to school you in American history!

So is Mt. Rushmore, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson Abe Lincoln, U. S. Grant, Teddy Roosevelt, Christopher Columbus, Andrew Jackson........

Good or Bad it's all American history and should never be erased from existence!

No one is erasing it from existence, so continue to be mad about made-up things

Your side if given the chance would dynamite Mt. Rushmore and dig up the graves of our Confederate ancestors. Right after you destroy every monument and memorial to American patriots like the Washington monument, Lincoln memorial, Jefferson memorial. Probably even the Memorials to American war dead.

I bet you don't even know or care if you have ancestors who fought on either side of the War.
