That third down call by Chaney...

1st time I've ever seen a decent glimpse of his "dual threat"ability. The run where he turned the corner and stayed in bounds for a 1st down--I couldn't believe it. Best run of his career.

No doubt.

He had no fear!

Chaney's third down call that iced the game was clutch. There's no telling what happens if we had to punt it back to them.
I typically miss calls like that but I got that one right.

There was a point where I thought taking a safety and getting a free kick from the 20 was on the table.

Yeah im starting to see a little bit of Dobbs in him he's starting to beat teams with his feet if the pass isn't there. I never thought I'd say this but I hope he's here next year
Don’t know about Dobbs. But if he can figure it out, having a redshirt senior taking snaps is not the worst thing in the world. Especially having Chaney working with him a 2nd year

I absolutely love the fact that we’ve got an OC we can depend on who isn’t going anywhere.

We’re set up well for long term stability

I almost wonder if we shouldn't have taken a long safety so we could have pinned them deeper with a punt from the 40.

Chaney made the right call at the right time.

That would have been risky IMO. A FG beats you then. If we have 7 point lead, sure do that but not with a 4 point lead.

Field position tho. Lot of bad potential outcomes kicking from your own end zone. The least of which would be great field position for Caintuck.

Yeah, I was a bit worried about his ball security.

I think Jennings is a bit loose with the ball too from time to time. I also think that for whatever reason, JG has been told to not run by all his coaches since he arrived here. This game, he finally got to do so.

I really underestimated UK's defense going into this game. That third down call was about the only time we fooled them. The TD grabs by Calloway and Palmer were great plays with two guys battling for the ball.
Actually, I don’t think we fooled them at all on that call. They covered the TE well. That didn’t look like a designed run for JG and he had to get by a couple defenders to get the first down. It looked to me like JG quickly realized his target was covered (if I recall correctly there was actually a second target as well who was also covered) and he made a great decision to take off. If he hesitated a half second those couple of defenders I mentioned would’ve been in position to stop him. It looked to me like JG simply made a great play on his own there.

I’d still rather force that KY offense to put it in the end zone than let a FG beat us. They seemed to be able to move the ball effectvely on us, especially early and then again late when we were worn down. I wouldn’t have had great confidence in us keeping them from at least getting a chance at a game winning FG.

Glad to see him earn his money on that call. First half was dismal performance
