Exactly. It's absolutely inexcusable not to get Lofton the ball in that situation.
Of course, that's just my opinion and I'm not a basketball coach, but it seems to be pretty common sense.
refs will almost never call a foul when that happens unless somebody just hauls off on the shooter. they never want to end a game on the freethrows and usually let the players play it out
Think about it this way, if the NBA wouldn't have suggested that a Player out of High School should attend atleast 1 year in College, we would be in the Elite 8.

I sort of agree, but with 6 seconds to go and having to go the length of the court, having Ramar go to the rack is not all that bad a shot either. At that point you pretty much have to just take what you get.
6 seconds was enough time to get Lofton the ball. If nothing else, you throw the ball into him and let him bring it up the court.
It was a decent drive by Ramar, but he's the freshman. You get the ball to your playmaker in those situations.
