Tennessee vs Florida game thread

why cant people accept this is rebuilding and rebuilding form the depths. Give them some props for playing with some fire and not giving up.

It is, but it is a small one. I have a hard time getting too excited for a team that, if playing well, can hold the game close for a half.

I also hate to think what this game looks like if Florida isn't completely boneheaded early on. A muffed punt, a fumbled snap, a donk off of receiver's head, and two failed shots to make two feet aren't going to happen against every opponent we face.

I think we were too tenative with our defensive schemes. We made our own boneheaded mistakes as well. The interception at the three and the special teams breakdowns chief among them. On paper we were way outclassed and we are technically playing without an SEC caliber QB.

That's called stage two of acceptance/resignation....good news too, you will be drinking less as the season rolls on.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like my vols to loose! But hey were you and dint have a qb... I guess, as much as I hate to say it. I accept it... Still makes me mad though...

I can't bust on Simms. He's better than Crompton 1.0; better actually by a mile.

Proud of everybody today. We fought hard. We were outgunned. Let's just make sure we get better (and we did today), keep competing, and get to a bowl game.

Bowl Game? Really? Wow.

I'm sure it's been stated already but I think by the end of the year the Vols will be playing good football. Rack up another solid football class and the rebuild will be even more evident next year.
That said, my bet is that we will win enough to get into a bowl game this year. It may be the Juneau Ice Cube Bowl but we're gonna surprise some teams when we play LSU, Arkansas, SoCarolina & Bama.

Simms needs a little more help on his blind side and overall line. He made some good plays but he has alot riding on him. I got an ounce of faith in him. A little more then Crompton but he will do fine...His is good or he wouldnt be in the SEC

Good enough to ride the bench at Louisville with no chance to start, to star at a...wait for it...junior college.... Nice.

Well Doctor....basically our behavior is linked to our passion for the Vols, and really enjoy seeing them kick some azz for 4 qtrs.

I like your optimism. I will have a glass of what you are drinking!

All in all, I'm not totally pissed! They didn't give up and that's what I was waiting for. We need a quarterback that can extend drives and keep our defense off the field.. Some boneheaded plays from the qb position killed us, line at times didn't seem like they had a clue, but what can you expect from a young o-line... Defense played their butts off. At the end if the day we are 1-2, but I'm still proud to be a VOL!!!!!!

I'm very proud to be a VOL!!! I do not think Sims is great but our O line really sucks and we need help FAST!!!

He has played 3 whole games. Either wear the orange or don't. He had some mistakes but he needs some help and it just wasnt there most of the time today

Bowl Game? Really? Wow.

We've got to improve (and we did this week).

And we've got to fight hard every game.

This is a 6-6 team for sure.

Schedule is so brutal though, we might not pull out some in November.

Having said that, is anyone going to count us out against GA?

I guess that is what puts me in the "less disgusted" category. We were able to arrange a game that gave us some small chance to win against a far superior opponent. That makes me want to sigh and have a drink, but I don't think I'll beat my dog or anything.

It just takes time. We wont have another Peyton or Tee Martin for a while I dont think...Kinda makes you miss Phil's recruiting power that he had
