Tennessee vs Florida game thread

Few have mentioned the real story of this game: UF completely shut down our running game. Less than 50 yards for Oku & Poole combined. As long as teams can do that, we will lose, regardless of who is QB.

evenly played - not evenly matched. The FL team had more talent on the field, but Dooley and company had the less talented team up for the game and competing until the last snap.

I can't bust on Simms. He's better than Crompton 1.0; better actually by a mile.

Proud of everybody today. We fought hard. We were outgunned. Let's just make sure we get better (and we did today), keep competing, and get to a bowl game.

What really pisses me off is that Simms can make the plays... he was really good in those 3 - 4 plays he made today but then he gives it all up by making a couple of ****ty plays

Well I might as well join in the Moral Victory Club....its gonna be one of the themes for the rest of the way.

So Vols are 1-2-1 so far.

Simms is slow in the pocket and has zereo Pocket Presents....cannot throw accurately. He gives at least 14 points to the opponents per game. If he goes the rest of the season, then he better improve or his azz is grass.

I love our coordinators. Hope the head man can recruit. A little more colapse out of Georgia and LSU and we might pull a few upsets on signing day.

Actually, many have mentioned it indirectly when they state how bad our O-Line played today. The O-Line did not look good today and the running game as well as pass blocking suffered as a result.

can i just say how horrible matt simms is. Its time for tennessee to wake up and realize that a pocket passer isnt going to get it done in college football. dont believe me look at Ohio State _ terell pryor. how about auburn Cameron Newton. michigan - nard dog. should i keep going. Go back to the year we won it with T. Martin. You need a quarterback that can scramble and get out of sticky situations, especially when your ofensive line isnt what it use to be.:thumbsup::thumbsup::banghead2:

He's not better than Crompton. I could of made those Td throws.

At the Swamp against a far better Gators squad with the spread at something like 25 and only losing by 10 is something of a moral victory (though I abhor even taking about "moral victories").

Compare that to this year at Neyland against a very underwhelming Gators squad with their QB making his first road start and a spread of 11 and losing by 14?

You guys should be ashamed for even trying to call this a moral victory.

The Vols were ready to play. Coaches had the team ready to play. Some critical mistakes that turned the game. But there were 31 young men attending today's game and saw that Tennessee is where they should be. It would be great if we get 2 or 3 commits from today's group. The future looks brighter everytime I see our Vols play and grow.

Maybe they shouldn't keep score so feelings aren't hurt, take them to the DQ for ice cream after the game and everybody gets a trophy at the end of the season.

Watching Foolmer talk about minimizing mistakes makes me want to knock him out. That idiot got us in this situation.

Crompton 1.0 would have never hit Justin Hunter, even on that play.

I'm not going to bust on Simms. If the team improves week to week like this, we will go bowling, and could win seven.

However, we are going to have to compete this hard against everybody. This team can't take a week off against anyone.
