The guy I like that I think is a real possibility and rumored to be interested who's not been mentioned much is Chip Long Notre Dame OC.

In my opinion it looks like they run that pro style/power type spread like Standford.

Chip Long is my choice at this point

you talking President Joe Johnson or board member Bill Johnson ( former player ‘ banker from Sparta)? Both were all about football but just wondering which one you were referring to?

Gotcha . That guy was a hoot. I remember him speaking several times at the old big orange picnic @ the National Guard armory in Nashville when I was a kid . My Grandfather was pretty well connected up there back then and I got to meet/ talk to him several times . He would bring the house down when he spoke ... cracking jokes about Dickey and Majors. Bill Johnson from Sparta was a very powerful force in his own right . My grandfather was extremely tight with him, as they were both from Sparta . The story I always heard was that he was one of if not the main power brokers up there who helped Fulmer get the HC job. Supposedly while Majors was recuperating from OHS they went to Scotland maybe for some sort of high dollar golf outing and it was on that trip that CPF got in Bill Johnson’s ear enough to get the HC job. There was obviously a little more to it than that but that supposedly got the wheels really moving in CPF’s favor . Probably not telling anything that most of y’all don’t already know , but just in case there you have it . Or that was how it was explained to me anyway .

Not a bad choice, but highly unlikely candidate IMO.

I damn sure don't want it to be anyone off that Alabama staff. Saban gets all his guys to stay on board through the end of the season. It likely costs us in recruiting last year as we needed all the help we could get. If we pick up their qb coach he probably won't be on board until January. No thanks

Who's calling the shots here? If I were Pruitt I would be pissed by the way Mathews stated this.

Well there's been some rumors out there he's wants out of ND, he's from North Alabama. Some have mentioned on their sites that he's interested in this job. There have been some tips alluding to him over the last 24 hours. Since I've come across this he's one I'd be really interested in.
