Sadly there is a ring of truth to "it's a black lesbian league." With tv money and jersey sales soaring when they promote the best players and even moreso when they emphasize the hetero glam angle for some of the players the OGs see no reason for change at all. You're going to get burly and obviously lesbian women and people running down Caitlin Clark like Whoopi Goldberg who flat out said on national tv it (the WNBA) is a black sport. Personally I like Angela Reese and the Bayou Barbie thing she had sort of branded and enjoy Sophie Cunningham as well as Lexie Hull dong their glam walk when showing up before the games. That sort of thing works for the NBA, having Griner stroll in like Lurch does not help the WNBA.

So true. I tried to buy the WNBA television package and when registering I was confronted by three questions 1) are you black; 2) are you lesbian?; are you a black lesbian? When I said no to all three, the website responded, "sorry the WNBA League Pass is not for you!"

I wonder how some of the responders assess the men's football team, now as well as before they or their fathers assessed Tennessee football before scholorships were given to black players.. for many just another expression of personal bias.
