Just got to watch. This should be the Manuel for how to really try to lose a game by bad lineup management from start to finish. Losing Bearden hurt but the minute I saw the defensive and offense lineup l knew we would be in major trouble. I won’t name them but there was two players who played defensive at points in the game that should not be playing major college ball in the field or batting. This is “big” girl softball we should set the lineup and defensive according. I thought Caylan pitched well with that ump behind the plate. The final score didn’t matter because we were not going to score three runs today anyway.

Did anybody notice how the GA lefties were really tagging the inside pitch? It didn't matter if the pitch was off speed or straight heat. Karen made some adjustments later as Moss was painting the outside corner against the lefties. I don't know if it is scouting, stealing signs lol, or just plain talent on getting the barrel of the bat on the inside pitch. I was impressed with the GA batters bat speed.

Georgia is known as a great hitting team that is why you need your best defense out there where they are comfortable.

Pathetic showing against a borderline garbage team. This series will come back to bite us in the rear end when it comes to seeding.

We typically start off like crap in the SEC and pick it up late, and somehow this team is managing to do the opposite.

Just got home and watched the replay! WOW! From start to finish this was nothing but a cluster****.
Weeklys get a lot of the blame because who in the hello would start 7 left hand batters against a left hand pitcher? They continue to change the line up more each game to no avail. RF has been another screwup all year and they put in whoever raises their hand first it appears! Infield in chaos as usual. I understand that we don't have great hitters from either side but who recruited these ladies anyway?
I will leave you to think or the rest of the story.
Our pitchers did not lose this game ( unless you think the GS lost it). Errors were part of the culprit and a much better hitting team was another. It matters not if who pitches if the players cannot hit the ball off a girl throwing 61 MPH. Those who thinks we are hitters need new goggles! Losing Ally hurt us but other teams have the same type problems though we probably don't hear about it. With any type of good hitting team down by 3 or 4 should have at least scored enough to win. Not this team most likely. I like any on here hoped to win 2 but many thought we may win one. It has been turmoil and seems to get worse ever day. Pitchers have to pitch but hitters have to hit and players have to field their positions.
Someone said Ralph needs to recruit more hitters. Will not happen most likely since we have commits for the next few year similar in skills as we have now. Even with slappers like we have if they can keep the foot in the box they can be useful! It seems every team except us has one or two big bone country looking girls that walk softly but carry a big stick. I don't remember us having many of them lately.
One other thing that I noticed as most I assume did the UMP stole the show again today.
JMHO as always and you have a right to yours!!!

I feel ya—the pitching leaves a lot to be desired for me. However, until I see us consistently score 4 a game in SEC play I’m not harping on them. There’s simply no way they can pitch freely and effectively when you know if you give up 3 to your opponent that’s potentially ballgame.

We are only hitting .267 in SEC play and have twice as many strikeouts as we have walks, which is horrible.

We are also only fielding .973 in SEC play.

As for pitching, our team ERA is .295 in SEC play, which isn't horrible but not great, either. Still, you can't win when you give teams free passes with errors and can't win if you can't score runs. Keep in mind, we could definitely have a tougher SEC schedule. We don't play LSU or Alabama this year, and I would rather play Georgia than South Carolina.

Honestly the dumb losses vs. Arkansas and Missouri are looming large right now. UGA isn't a great team this year but they're better than those two teams, and we honestly had no business dropping games to those goofy teams.

I don't see this team winning the series at Ole Miss, either. We should feel lucky we close out SEC at home vs. the worst team in the SEC in A&M. We had better sweep them like we did MSU.

The team hasn't been bringing their best game for a month now, and the losses are mounting up. They've already dropped from 2nd to 4th in the SEC after this weekend and are poised to tumble out of the top 10 this week. They're in danger of losing the bye in the SECT and probably have already blown the chance for a top 8 national seed. Of course, if they keep playing like this, it may not matter since they could be eliminated in the regionals. Very disappointing for a team that has shown us they can play so much better.

Losing Shipman isn't causing this. Phillips is more than serviceable as catcher and she was one of the best hitters on the team until the past month. They have talent at every position-- enough to make a deep run in the SECT and have a good showing in the super regionals.
