LOL.....I guess she wasn't trying to throw a strike.....just get through the drill.
Yep and I guess this is something many teams use but never did it with my teams. When watching the Georgia games they showed the hitting coach/infield coach (male) doing drills that were new to me but looked impressive. I have also noticed more and more teams are going to a male for that position. Seems like a trend and looks good to me. JMHO as always!

In prior years when my daughter went to pitching camps that is a standard drill I assume for stamina and leg strength.

Ok for the great minds on here I was thinking about something and don't really have an answer to. But does having Co-head coaches cost us an assistant position? Most other teams have one to two ex-pitchers on staff for teaching and practice pitching (I know Marty pitches some and main role seems to be heading up recruiting) our grad assistant was an ex-slapper which I love India but Karen is renowned for teaching slapping why an extra coach for that? Just looking at other staffs when we play them seem to cover areas of the on field play better overall. Honest question what is Raplh's on field teaching responsibilities anyone know?

I deep down hate to say this but I would think it does to a certain extent. From what I remember which aint much Karen does handle hitting and has included slapping. She also calls the pitches and I believe Ralph and Marty works with pitchers and fielding. I love India but I would assume baserunning and slapping as well. If all things equal I would rather have a hitting coach who has a baseball/softball background in hitting with power and finesse as well. I said in another thread that it looks like a lot of teams are going to male hitting coaches and seem to be turning the corner. I know Georgia did but all teams have talent now and we need a boost of new blood. Love the Weeklys and what they have done for our program! JMHO as always!

Well, yes and no. A softball staff can have three full-time coaches and one volunteer assistant. What title you give the three is really irrelevant.

According to an interview Ralph did a few weeks ago, Karen now handles all of the pitchers, since she was the one calling pitches anyway. Ralph and Marty work with the hitters and infield, India the slappers and outfielders. Marty had a major hand in hitting for several years, being the one that throws BP. RW credited him with the explosion of Bearden this year, Marty made one little tweak in her approach and we see the results.

Yikes, Tennessee State is not very good:

Phillips with the error with this lineup why is Phillips not catching Osbron at short and Seggern at third far better d?
