TN wins 12-2 that's a final now. TN is 14-2 for the season. GBO!!! GO Lady Vols!!!

Matty gives up the fewest base runners per 7 innings of our pitchers. Allows the lowest BA. Strikes out the most per inning. Gives up the fewest walks by far. It's just the gopher ball that keeps her from really standing out. That is 6 HR in 30 innings. 1 every 5 innings. Last year she gave up 1 every 8 innings. As a soph she gave up 1 every 10 innings. As a freshman it was 1 every 16 innings. It's gone up each year. If she can cut the taters back to her freshman or soph levels she can be really outstanding. I'm sure they are thinking about ways to address it and it's probably driving her and the coaching staff nuts. Hopefully they can get that cleaned up. I notice as a freshman she hit 5 batters all year and gave up 7 HR. As a soph she hit 16 and gave up 20 HR. As a junior she hit 22 and gave up 19 HR. Maybe she just needs to quit trying to pitch inside?

Matty would have a fantastic ERA if the gopher pitch was not in her arsenal.

Don't have the pitching to finish 3rd will be lucky to finish .500 in conference.

Bearden and Phillips now have hit three homeruns each. They seem to be taking up the Gregg slack at least early in the season. Ayala has been on a tear hitting around .500 for the season already 2 homers and 21 RBI's the same total she had all last season.
