Tennessee Softball

Thanks. I watched all the games available and Holcomb does not get called as much as she should it they go by the letter of the law. When she fouls one off or anything that foot is out. Leach was called out several times last year and hopefully that part of her game is gone. Holcomb is such a weapon I hope she can get it cleaned up soon.

I can look at the schedule and think we can go about 15 and 9 in the conference and 25 and 4 non conference and go into the SEC Tourney 40 and 13. What we do from there depends on freshmen development and of course if the pitching starts clicking.

I as well took a look and can see us going as you said maybe 15-9 in conference. I probably used my heart too much but though 17-7. Non conference 23-6 and ending as you did 40-13 maybe. Get Matty and Caylan right and they are capable and Ashley to keep on keeping on we will be ok. My concern is I think we need: Leach to hit 5 HRs, Holcomb 2, Amanda 7-9, Ally 6-8, Seggern 10, Ashley Morgan 8 and the rest of the team around 12-15. Without a stud we can do well but as this group goes the LVs go. Baserunning has to improve, Osborn needs to play and the outfield has got to catch the ball. Looking at what I have written the one word this breaks down to is FUNDAMENTALS. We are one player up the middle to be solid. Leach and Ally will be fine and if what we hear about Osborn she should be in the line up soon. That CF position concerns me. JMHO as always!

Primary recruiter, first of all. In practice, he throws every pitch of batting practice since non-coaching members of the staff are no longer permitted to throw BP. Works with pitchers on technique, but Karen calls the pitches and works with them on the mental aspect of the game.

But I can tell you, without question, that not one single pitcher in the program in the last decade has expressed a lack of confidence with McDaniel or his techniques.

I do not know who the problem is, but without question for the last several years every pitcher that goes there seems to regress from their freshmen year on.

I am sure that 3 oclock game is gonna be cancelled was looking forward to some softball after that debacle last night. Hopefully we'll get all five games were supposed to play in Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. All are being streamed Go Lady Vols!!!!!!!

Defense!!! Can't drop routine pop flys in the out field. You give up 3 runs doing that and it makes you have to score 4 to win and we're not manufacturing and runs against good teams. Can't depend on homeruns when you dont have homerun hitters JMO

Again Holcomb steps out of the box this time on a sac bunt and called out. Must not have taken coaching since last year. Why bat a person 2nd when a sure out is probable. Her and Bearden must be hell of practice players during the week.

Looks like Ralph decided that Holcomb needed to sit. Good deal. She can be a very valuable asset for us but she has to get her head right.

Osborn big hit in her first at bat today. Parsons in Centerfield. Kansas is not Florida State looks like we could run rule them today.

I know they've worked with Holcomb; she just hasn't adjusted to the new rule. She can get away with it when the chalk is scuffed; otherwise, it's pretty clear she steps out most of the time. Hope she can get that fixed, but it's been well over a year now.

That pitcher is not Monica Abbott but good to see Bearden hit the HR. A big strong senior should get us 6-8 this year. Cut back on the strike outs and I can live with her DHing.

Gonna have to lay off of Bearden girl is actually becoming a factor this season as a hitter. I never thought it would happen but she should have three homers this season robbed of one.

Lol. The umpires are the sissies. Lady Vols didn't call to cover the field.
But thanks for the heads-up on the baseball Vols though.

LV pitcher threw 5 straight balls, then told Karen she was having trouble gripping the ball.

Karen complains to umpire who orders the tarp on the field.

Baseball Vols, playing in the same rain as the softball Vols, are leading Indiana 3-0 in the second inning.

Umpire should of told Karen to give her pitcher a dry towel to wipe wet hands off.

The softball is bigger and their hands are smaller
