Good first inning 4-0, Maddi 2 Ks, Sophia single, steal, and a run and Maddi 2 run blast off the scoreboard.

2 runs in the second inning including another single by Sophia.

Maddi has three shutout, hitless innings with 4 Ks. Maddi lead off double in third but caught stealing third. Amayah solo shot to dead center. Sophia with third hit. 7-0 after 3.

Maddi with 3rd hit and rbi. Amayah with another HR, a 3-run BOMB over the scoreboard. 11-0 after 4.

Amayah has hit two of the hardest balls I’ve seen at SPL. One cleared the scoreboard and the other hit near the tip of the curtain in right center.

I know it’s Roane State but I hope this is a good sign for Amayah.

Sophia and Maddi look to be great pickups. Glad Amayah swinging well. Only thing I can point to is we need to clean up some baserunning a little bit. Well, things are under control here. 18-0, bases loaded and no outs. Gotta get subs and wings for some afternoon and evening football.

How did the youngsters do?

I didn't keep stats but I don't think we made any fielding errors with a practically new infield. Roane State made several fielding errors at inopportune times. The ball was hot coming off everyone's bat and better RS infielders might have been able to get to those liners. I thought Taelyn Holley did well at the plate as did Kailey Plumlee, Maddi Rutan (mound and plate) and Emma Clarke. We had like 35 hits and as many runs. Seems like everyone was barreling up on the ball. Pitchers Karlyn, Sage and Peyton didn't pitch. Charli did but just to bat. Erin pitched well and also got to bat once. 5th inning was pretty tough on them. Reminded me of what we did to the Gators during last years WCWS.

Doyle had such a terrible start as a freshmen it would be awesome if she suddenly becomes the player that was expected. She definitely has the power if she can make consistent contact she is certainly a player that could lead us way up in expectations for the offense in 2026
