I like this way over the Extra Innings where they just slot 80 players in the Top 10.

Can’t argue with that. She’s had good enough teams to win it all and came up well short.

True. However, the 2027 rankings will be adjusted at some point. NIL will play a role in that.

Now that on3/rivals is covering the sport, they and Softball America have both started applying the traditional star rating system. I’m not sure if it tells you anymore than the old top 100 or whatever did, but good players are good players.

Crazy that LSU has had back-to-back #1 classes given that they increasingly are underperforming. They were in the top 3 early in the season the past two years and were only about .500 in the SEC and hasn't made it to the World series in many years. One could suspect NIL, but as a LSU fan it is hard for me to believe that it would be high for softball due to the support there is relatively soft compared to the top schools and compared to so many of the other LSU sports. Baseball is so dominant in Baton Rouge in the Spring it is almost like Softball is an afterthought. In any case, this is either Beth's last hurrah or the start of finally producing results.
