In the program in January, which goes to the drawn out part I said earlier.

So you have no problem with her intentionally missing the application deadline despite the fact that the academic counselor for softball was on her about said deadline every day for the month prior to it so she could use it as an excuse when she didn’t “get in“ even though she was going to take classes towards that program in the fall because of Karen and the academic staff doing extra work after she missed the deadline? Am I getting that right? That’s a long run on sentence full of things that I have to suspend my disbelief on for this to be Tennessee’s fault. But in your mind, It’s still Tennessee’s fault, even though she’s the one who intentionally didn’t apply until it was too late?

I’m really at a loss as to why someone who claims to be a Tennessee fan would go to this level of mental gymnastics to try to “both sides” this argument.

I don’t know who you are, I’m sure we’ve met at a game in person since you suggest that you hang out with the parents. On the rare occasion I come to a home game, I typically get a porch and have invited many parents to be out there because my company has done a lot of contract work for several of the parents over the years. Maybe your Brandon‘s best friend, I don’t know. He just takes a real suspension of disbelief to buy the things that you are selling over what most people can perceive is reality. I’m sure you have your reasons for trying to play both sides, I just don’t get it. But it has provided a lot of entertainment for me over the last week while I am billing hours to clients waiting for them to approve contracts we’ve written instead of walking across the bridge to the Braves games like I’ve wanted to do.

Everyone is saying this money sets her up for life. Really, if you were an employer, would you hire someone who lied to her previous boss and co-workers?

I don’t get the people trying to make excuses for her either. She left for money. Which fine, so be it. But she went about all of this the wrong way and did the program, coaches and her teammates dirty. She could’ve handled things differently but chose not to. This is on HER and her camp. They are the ones who chose to handle all of this poorly. Not Tennessee.

Maybe all these players leaving is them matching the loyalty of their coaches. Maybe it has less to do w $ and more to do with trust and integrity. If you can't trust your coaches to do right by you and the team, why be loyal to them? And as a coach, if you can't match the $, you better be able to sell (and stand by) the culture and the relationship. If you can't, you're beaten.

Most people don’t let their boss know that they are looking for a job until they have signed on the Dottied line.

People need to realize this is now a business and not just fun and games.

I didn't imply she wasn't loyal to Taylor. If you read my later posts, I said maybe TP (or some of the others that left) didn't like the culture or how others on the team were handled. Who knows. People on here will claim Tennessee has no fault (and maybe they don't!), but there are multiple sides to a story and there are a lot of posts online now about our new assistants and how they left Tech. Bottom line, everyone thinks their side is squeaky clean and the other is shady. Wisdom is knowing you don't have all the facts.

You keep posting from the Tennessee view as it’s the only truth to the situation. It’s been said here before you carry water for the University and thats good enough for most. I’ve talked with those close to Tennessee side that are frustrated and Ive talked those in the travel that are close to the Taylor side who believe it’s best for her that she left. You said Tennessee/Karen was getting her into the master program and I’ve been told Tennessee/Karen was not helping at all. It’s in what you want to believe. Playing along with your view, if a kid hasn’t filled out her paperwork in Oct-April, that may be a sign. You do seem to only think you’re the only one who has insight or can pick up a phone to text someone. I’m not a fan of bashing a 20 year old young adult who did what was asked in the field and in the classroom.

A future potential employer will have this information to consider whether this person can be trusted with sensitive company information or not. I am not blaming anyone for taking more money. My original post was about having a rule or law requiring the disclosure of signing with another institute before or during the season. You, Majors, I believe, asked what would have been the consequences if it had been known in March. Coach Weekly would have had the decision of whether to play her for her offensive production, or bench her, and develop another 3rd baseman.

The response was in agreement with Dadof2Vols. The future employer would also see that she graduated in 3 years with her degree. I agree with the last part as had it been discussed in March it wound have caused a dynamic to the team that would have been a distraction in any scenario.

tennessee does not have the NIL money tech has. TP knew she was transferring for a while, i dont think matching that money would have kept her here. her staying probably would have caused locker room issues with the girls who are genuinely all VOL and were deceived. i dont think anyone has a problem with TP leaving, go be you girl and succeed, just the way it was carried out by all parties.

Part of why the donor in question got involved with TTU softball in the first place is he took it personally that their head coach would leave to take an assistant coach job somewhere else. Never mind the fact that Craig was paid less to be the head coach there than he was to be an assistant here. His roster got pillaged by other schools the year before because they had effectively zero NIL money. But that woke up several people with the casual cash to spend to the fact that Texas Tech was an unserious athletics program.

He invested in softball because his partner was a softball player. But also, in part, because they saw TCU spending heavily in women’s basketball to get really good suddenly, and weren’t going to try to compete on that front. Their women’s basketball program is still in shambles.

UT wasn't going to pay her 350K under any circumstances. She knew that , so when Tech reached out months ago she jumped into the boat. I just wonder if all this came about when she hit her rough patch and then she signed and played free and got hot again.
