Tennessee Softball 2025

To me, it’s less about her leaving and more about her and her new school not being honest about it. She’s been planning to transfer since March apparently. And that’s not right. Also, she told Karen in her end of season interview that she wasn’t planning on leaving. Tech did us dirty and so did she and I will die on this hill. I don’t wish her well. That’s how I feel and I stand by it. I don’t fault her for taking more money, but if you’re going to do that, be honest about it with your coaches and teammates and don’t be shady. I can only wonder what her former teammates think about all this.
Hey man, you're entitled to your opinion. Not saying otherwise.

I read some accusations in this forum by others but have not seen any empirical evidence that she agreed to transfer months ago. No doubt she was improperly contacted and offered. I just have not seen evidence she accepted and signed back then. I know there was a lot of talk about TT tactics during the WCWS and that there had been a lot of pressure to take the money but at that time, I'm not sure the decision had not been made by her. She was definitely bothered about something while she was in the slump. Don't know if it was signing remorse, better scouting on her or something else.

It's easy to take the high road when one is not walking the path. If someone offered you $200K or $350K as a college sophomore to play the game you love but you wanted to be a Lady Vol and have been holding off on making a decision while under intense pressure from someone close to you to take the money, what would you honestly do?

Because this is pro-Tennessee board. I’ve heard from both sides from people I trust in the matter and a lot of truth to how it was started and a lot of things not mentioned here about Tennessee’s part. I don’t fault Tennessee for being upset and I don’t fault Taylor for leaving.
Go ahead and tell us what the “Tennessee part“ of this is. What did Tennessee supposedly do wrong while their player’s dad and player were lying for the last three months. Please, enlighten us.

The spinning and trying to justify by some of these people is hilarious.

Lying and straight up being deceitful shows a lack of character. Stop trying to justify it, y’all

The debacle with not getting her into graduate school. As well as NIL number is a start.

Had Taylor come out in March and said yes I’m leaving, do think that bodes well for the remainder of the season? Could she had handled it better, looking back possible. As a 20 year old young adult she did the job that was asked of her as a player. Why put a target on herself and open herself up to scrutiny.

Was she still lying to teammates and coaches once the season was over and she no longer (I guess) had a reason to lie? That’s the question you should be asking. And I know the answer.

I believe she was weighing all the options at that time. Did she have a feeling she was bolting for Lubbock, probably. Did she have a desire to stay here for graduate school as it was being drawn out, yes. Ive stated I see where Tennessee is upset and I see her side as well.

Its already happening. Cleveland State and PU-Fort Wayne announced they are ending softball after this year. Horizon will be down to 7 and I think there may be another one on the way.

I expect many northeast/midwest mid-major schools to abandon it. Schools will focus on realistic areas they can be successful. Softball/Baseball are just gonna be too hard in the north.
Well, we don't call the school that around here. It is PFW or Purdue Fort Wayne, thank you.

Is her dad still trying to spin the lie that she didn’t get into graduate school? That’s flat wrong. She applied past the deadline, and they were going to let take classes in the MBA program anyway before joining the full program in January. Exact same situation that Erin Edmoundson and Ashley Morgan did two years ago.

Not that it actually matters, because they signed the agreement with Texas Tech almost a month before they would’ve heard on grad school anyway. Don’t let him use you like he’s used his kid.

Didn’t come from him, but seems there’s truth to it based on what you said. So more to it then just playing 3B for Tennessee. It is funny how that detail was left out by those here.

I didn't think it was. There is so much hearsay out there I'm just trying to understand when she officially accepted the offer by signing. I like Taylor as a person and know she loved being a lady vol.
She didn't love it to much, she's a Red Raider now. KP loves being a Lady Vol, she's still a Lady Vol. Thats a big difference. Just call it what it is, she took the $$ and ran. No not to lead coaches and teammates on, just say I can't pass ip the $$ and leave.

That would disappointing if that was the exact way it happened. She has the money and she and her dad are gone. I'm sad she's gone. I HOPE the system will further define acceptable recruiting behavior wrt NIL.

So her applying past the deadline, and getting into the program anyway is a knock on Tennessee? That’s a stretch, even for you.

Okay…let’s get out the rulers and let the measurements begin.

I mean, really folks?

There is a problem with ALL of your so-called insider info. And it doesn’t matter who is connected more or less.

IT IS ALL HEARSAY. And in most cases, it is multiple layers of hearsay.

And there is a reason why hearsay is not reliable. It is because info is never repeated verbatim and real facts start getting distorted the more they are repeated.

Let’s just stick with Coach’s post. Parnell is gone and she apparently was poached before her season ended. And there are real problems with that.
