Tennessee Softball 2025

We aren’t making up our entire team of transfers. So it’s not even remotely the same. Yes everyone is taking transfers, but not everybody has their starting lineup as transfers.
We would if we could afford it. Time will tell. If we unshackle from HBC and OMS, we may achieve a position of favor within the AD. Seems to have worked for WBB.

She has graduated with a degree in 3 years. Two year starter and year of rehab. Seems she’s fulfilled her duties. If Tennessee couldn’t match the offer can you blame her? That’s a Tennessee problem on if they wanted her here.
Can’t say no to the $$$ when there is no viable pro league to make anything decent

So, we lose pretty much our whole infield (3rd, SS, 1st and catcher) along with our CF, and another backup and experienced players.

We have Alannah and Gabby Leach, Zoie Shuler, Camryn Sarvis and Saviya Morgan as returning outfielders.

Bella Faw, Emma Clarke, Ella Dodge, Amayah Doyle, and Amanda Ahlin (has played both IF and OF) are returning infielders.

Transferring in are Makenzie Butt (1B) and Sophia Knight (CF).

Our 2025 class (ranked #2 in the nation) consists of Meredith Barnhart (IF, Colorado POY), Taelyn Holley (#2 OF), Elsa Morrison (#2 C), and McCall Sims (#23 OF).

Three new pitchers will be on next years team. Maddi Rutan (2-way transfer player), Peyton Hardenburger (#2 P) and Kailey Plumlee (#9 P).

So, what does next years team look like? I don't think the portal is done but we are down to days....

A possibility for sure. Faw is really going to have to improve her hitting if she wants to start.
My first post after many years of following all the sports at UT. I agree with the probable starting lineups for next year. They could develop and be better than this year, and then again, maybe not.
My main reason for responding in this thread is, if it is true that Pannell signed with an opposing team's cooperative in March, thus promising to transfer after the season, I think it is time for the NCAA to make a rule that once a player has signed, it must be disclosed. If not disclosed and later discovered, that player would be declared ineligible for that year. I don't think the courts would overturn this new rule because of the threat to the game of throwing games. Imagine if Tennessee had played Texas Tech in the WCWS. Tennessee is the home team, it is the top of the 7th inning, score tied, a runner on and two outs. A ball is hit to the third baseman, who bobbles the ball, allowing the go ahead run to score. In the bottom of the 7th, Tennessee has the tying run in scoring position with two outs. The third baseman comes to bat and strikes out looking at a pitch right down the middle, waist high. What would be the speculation knowing that the third baseman was transferring to the other team? The third baseman may not have intentionally done either act with malice, but consider the optics. Flame away.

They did. After you sign any deal now it has to be reported to the accounting Gods.

Now you know why I was glad Texas won it all. Not a fan of Mike White but at least he isn't building his team by being the highest bidder to transfers.
Yeah, the common fan thinks that Mike White is bad because he's kind of a jerk and he took half of Oregon's team with him when left. But he's very well-respected in the industry. Them winning was very popular behind the scenes in the sport.

It hurts losing Pannell, but what hurts me worse is thinking about the over abundance of outfielders and shortage of infielders that can be productive. Like others have said, Faw will have to improve immensely to start at SS, so if it’s not her do we have anyone else or do we need to be looking in the portal?

As someone else said, Clark would be another option there.

Faw has started a lot of games and will be a starter next year if she stays. Her hitting was improving before she gave way to Laura. I've seen her make some phenomenal plays at SS.

for those who have not made the association = Texas Tech women's basketball bought their team for the last two years and the coming year.

If you have a long memory on this board Texas Tech also is allowing the mothers of the players they recruited to sell their handbags at courtside during halftime
