She’s a solid pitcher, a good pickup. But she doesn’t rlly scare me when facing her.
But Landry wasn’t great. She was good but definitely not considered elite or even great tbh. OU offense is great. The pitching was nothing special. Berzon is not an elite pitcher either. Neither are Deal or Monticelli. And the Freshman are TBDThat too. Gotta give Rocha some credit. Not sure many thought Landry would be great for them this year. I know I dismissed that get, but they proved me wrong. She’s one of the best pitching coaches there is.
It’s a tough call because in all reality, as good as Canady is, starting in all three games in a WS is not a good recipe. At this level as we saw tonight, elite hitters will eventually hit your ace. I think the TT coach underestimated what Texas would do tonight. He can get away with throwing her in a three game series mostly in her conference but not in a conference as stout as the SEC. I bet he won’t do that again. Was just talking to a friend and he says he thought Tech should’ve left Canady in the game. Thoughts?
Tech blowing game 1 flipped the series. They could have sat Canady game 2 and Kavan would have had to throw game 2It’s a tough call because in all reality, as good as Canady is, starting in all three games in a WS is not a good recipe. Landry was solid at Louisiana and solid at OU. She stayed the same, the team was better is the only difference. Not discrediting Rocha but Landry stayed the same. That too. Kirkpatrick has graduated too. I’d anticipate 2-3 more leaving.Doing some simple arithmetic and as of tonight I count 26 players on our roster:
Returning (10): Clarke, Dodge, Doyle, A. Leach, G. Leach, Mardjetko, Morgan, Nuwer, Pannell, and Pickens
Freshmen (6): Barnhart, Hardenburger, Holley, Morrison, Plumlee, and Sims
Portal Pickups (3): Butt, Knight, and Rutan
Could Return (7): Ahlin, Barnhart, Faw, Kirkpatrick, Orsini, Sarvis, and Shuler.
To add another power bat from the portal we may need to trim a couple of folks?
I know Amanda and Charli have graduated but could return, don’t know the plans for Aubrey, Jackie, Camryn, or Zoie. I hope Bella returns as I still think she can be a positive contributor. Anyone with any early thoughts on next year’s roster?
Not every player that was committed signed scholarship papers because they weren’t necessarily going to be on an athletic scholarship. With the House settlement, walk-ons aren’t a thing anymore, so a lot of players around the country have been in limbo. The conversation was had long ago that spots were going to be tight, but some players and their families elected to see how the numbers worked out rather than pursuing something else earlier.Hasn't she already signed a LOI?
It’s the ugly side of the business. If you know the numbers are going to be tight, don’t let the kid commit until you’re ready to commit to the kid.Not every player that was committed signed scholarship papers because they weren’t necessarily going to be on an athletic scholarship. The NIL and transfer portal makes my head spin….From last last. This shows the deadlines for the NIL clearing house and dates to avoid it

Not ugly at all. When she committed (as a walk-on, technically), the roster limit proposed in the house settlement weren’t a thing. From what I understand from multiple people, Tennessee was completely honest with her and other players in the next two classes about the process and what the roster numbers looked like. Particularly for players were coming in on academic money. It’s the ugly side of the business.
