Perhaps Kavan will be off a bit and we can rock her. That would be a nice beginning.I think the key for KP is to get that change to be in the 62-64 range. If she can do that and get that rise to have a little more bite and not too much over the plate I think we will be okay. Do we know who hit Kavan well in the series?
The absurdity of it is this: Because the umpire missed the failure to touch home plate, there was no player-assist violation that could be called.Touching the plate is.... her being assisted to go back and re touch it wasnt.... So since none of the unps had the balls to call it on the field according to replay she went back and touched it without touching a teammate first.
Nope, not arguing at all, it's incredibly stupid that couldn't be overturned, but it's also terrible that 4 umpires missed it in the first place. The absurdity of it is this: Because the umpire missed the failure to touch home plate, there was no player-assist violation that could be called.
Missing the reviewable call made the unreviewable rule violating assist-to touch-the-plate possible.
It essentially allowed any other rule violation the UCLA committed afterwards allowable.
That is BS, no matter what else you may think k about it.
Yes, thank you. This ump needs to be terminated for that call which literally cost a team a win. Us winning is irrelevant to the situation.1. Plate was missed at first. Review shows she missed the plate and umpire confirmed it.
2. She went back and touched the plate. Review confirms this
3. While watching her go back and touch the plate they saw she was assisted but couldn't call it an out because no one saw it in real time it's not able to be reviewed.
4. The only thing they could confirm under review was her foot going back to touch the plate because the rule book doesn't allow anything else in this scenario to be reviewed (Appendix G bulls---)
5. Rules are rules even when our eyes tell us otherwise which is a much broader discussion
6. Home plate umpire should be removed from the rotation as that was their call to observe
7. Would have been a HUGE story if UCLA came back and won but now will go quietly into the night
8. Time to show UT junior who the real UT is tomorrow, twice
9. If you've never gone to the WCWS you are missing out
Does that about sum it up?
He should have positioned himself better to be able to see the player and the plate. Outside of UT fans, he's the happiest person on the planet that UT won. Believe me...I umpired baseball for many years way before the review. LolYes, thank you. This ump needs to be terminated for that call which literally cost a team a win. Us winning is irrelevant to the situation.
How in bullet # 3. does he not see it in real time when he saw everything else in real time? Pay attention to detail you idiot! Regardless of which team gets affected, this is dereliction of job duties. Fire him!
