Honestly, the Oklahoma loss aside, this has been one of the most fun women’s college World Series visits in our program, in my opinion. I mean, beating down Florida like that and then winning against UCLA like this. They’ve bounced back nicely after that heartbreak from OU and I will admit that I didn’t think they had it in them, but they sure did prove me wrong and I’m so glad they did.

UCLA was living on the edge we had bases loaded last 2 innings, missed a game ending homer by an inch and they got a call that will probably change the rule at home and also, they will probably be a safe base on 1st next year because the UCLA runner interference. Seems like Vols are always instrumental on rule changes. In Football got the 10 second run off rule that got us beat vs UNC Music City Bowl and the ref stand over the ball to allow defense to sub when O does cause us a Loss at LSU in 2011 for too many players on the field. Glad we didnt take a loss in a game that a lot of weird things happened.

Don't worry, the emotional scars are already so deep that call will be forever part of the panoply of injustices done to Tennessee. Watch and see if it doesn't get recalled by someone at some time in the football game thread next Fall.

Honestly, I would not have wanted to win on a called out at home after a clear home run because batter missed the plate. It took a bit, but glad they won legitimately.

Really really good game. Offensive approach went away for just a few innings but got it back at the end. Hopefully a lot of recruits seeing the LV’s pulling that out on ABC will work in our favor. Pannell was the player of the game. Need to back up the brinks truck to keep her.

Has anyone actually looked up what this bogus Appendix G actually says? Please correc me if I’m wrong. When a player crosses home plate, the ump physically watches to see if they touch home plate. If player does not touch home plate the they can be called out by the ump or with a with challenge. Was the ump sleeping or just didn’t care to watch her cross home plate? And, then they had to come up with this BS ruling.

Touching the plate is.... her being assisted to go back and re touch it wasnt.... So since none of the unps had the balls to call it on the field according to replay she went back and touched it without touching a teammate first.

Great win LVs despite Appendix G! Poor Karlyn has to ice up and get ready again. But if our season is to continue tomorrow we have to hit Kavan some and then Sage/Erin have to step up when/if called on. We can do this but everything must fall in place. GO LVs!

Don’t recall seeing so many intentional walks before, on both sides, maybe some learning from the OK game, but this time UCLA kept walking our batters till they couldn’t anymore, and then we had Mealer up.
