I think the main goal this weekend is to stay in the top four. You don't have to play the first couple of days and only have to win three games to win the tourney. SEC Tourney starts May 6th and in the top four would not play until May 8th.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, Florida does not have to sweep Oklahoma, they only have to win 2 out of three. We are only two games behind Oklahoma and if we tie them in the standings we win on the tiebreaker. We do have to sweep Texas A&M though. If Karlyn has her stuff and the other pitchers help out it is possible. We are going to have bring out our bats though. Arkansas showed that A&M is beatable.

It can go either way Florida sweep Oklahoma and we win 2 of three or we sweep and Florida win two of three. The great thing that could happen is Florida sweep and we sweep. Whatever happens we have to stay in that top four and we could end up out of it by not winning any games.

Agree, it the bats show up in this series we could definitely take the 2 games Karlyn pitches and if Karen can get 5-6 good innings out of the other 3 pitchers in the game they pitch then a sweep is possible. 2-3 probably the realistic expectation but playing at home with a big crowd so............

In that scenario, I believe a tie will give us the #1 seed in the tourney but if the records are the same, I can't see rules for determining the Regular Season Champion other than record. If the records are the same, the teams share the regular season championship just like DP said.

If we tie Oklahoma were the number one seed. We would have to be the number one seed versus A&M cause we would have to beat A&M twice and head to head play is the first determining factor. We also have the tiebreaker over Texas. Arkansas has the tiebreaker over us they have lost 9 games so the only way they come into play is if were playing for the top four and get swept. They could end up ahead of us. Two wins gives us second place no matter what any other team does. The chances of us winning the league are very low for sure, but still a chance. The opportunity for second is all on us.

I’m talking about the regular season Championship. You’re talking about tournament seeding. We’re both right.

The team or teams that finish with the best winning percentage is awarded the SEC Championship. All teams that finish with the best winning percentage are considered to be the SEC Champions.

If more than one team is awarded the SEC Championship, a tiebreaker will be used to determine the seeding for the SEC Tournament.

The winner of the SEC Tournament is the SEC Tournament Champion and receives the automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

As an OU fan I care more about the potential to host a super regional first. Second is to not get match up in regionals against an elite pitcher like Bahl. 3rd not matched up in Supers against Canady.

Elite pitchers can control and win games single handily and Tennessee has one of those.

Yes the tiebreaker is head to head play and we have it on both Oklahoma and Texas. Will have A&M if we win two. Did not play Florida. Arkansas has the tiebreaker over us. The Arkansas series is still the one that cost us the most it was at home and we lost two of those games. Regardlesss what we have done in the SEC is exception 14 and 7 is an elite record for the hard SEC schedule we played.

So true that is why we have a shot to a long way if the oifense and D will help Karlyn out. I will admit it I don’t want to see Bahl or Candy.

Going to be a really tense weekend as we could finish anywhere from first to fifth. We really need LSU to win that series over Arkansas at least one game. Texas has Kentucky a team they are likely to sweep. That would give them a 16 and 8 record and make us have to win our series to stay ahead of them. One Arkansas loss eliminates their chance for the top four unless we get swept. If we win two were second for sure. We get swept we could easily be fifth and have to play on May 7th. Very interesting weeked hope were ready to win.
