I don’t think it’s accurate to characterize it that way. Florida had a lot of NIL money that it was throwing around this past off-season. But the amounts they were trying to get to her representation were less than what she was making here with some of her local deals. I have it on good authority that she is the highest earning female NIL athlete at Tennessee, by pretty large margin over a couple of the basketball players.

Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, UCLA and a couple of others are going to throw around a lot of money every off-season at the best players on every roster, including each other’s rosters. I hope that we are getting there, some of us have put money where our mouths are on that. We certainly spent to get Fiedler and Sage. Couldn’t match what Texas Tech put together with the Patrick Mahomes money to get Canady. For a softball athlete that really only has four or five years to earn that kind of money, they have no choice but to listen.

We still would have a good season but Kar takes them to another level win wise. This is what we should expect in the future with respect to NIL. There will be those who will try to entice the best players to jump ship. It’s going to be a heartbreaker for some.
