I was impressed with Erin Nuwer against Kentucky. Even though she gave up some runs, I thought she showed tremendous poise for a freshman pitcher. I also thought Peyton Tanner looked promising in her innings pitched. People keep assuming that Sage is going to be the number two pitcher behind Karlyn, but I'm not so sure about that. I think Erin Nuwer is the better pitcher and it will show during the course of the coming season.errors aside Nuwer looked pretty good for a freshman. the infield is rusty right now, but to be expected for fall ball.
I’m not sold on Sage myself here. Believe we got the best pitcher at the time not the best pitcher. For me she gets the nod based on what she did at SC in her K numbers. I don’t see either freshman doing what she did in year 1. Tanner has more pop in her ball than I expected.I was impressed with Erin Nuwer against Kentucky. Sage's numbers at South Carolina were nothing to write home about.I’m not sold on Sage myself here. Believe we got the best pitcher at the time not the best pitcher. 119K for a freshman in 118 innings in the SEC. Believe she’s also the pitcher that took us to extra innings at their place in game 1. She came in relief and held us in check.
