Players cannot enter their names into the portal until after the NCAA Tournament field is announced in May. A player could, in theory, announce her attention to transfer at any time and stop playing for her current team. But she cannot enter the portal, so she cannot be contacted by coaches or representatives of any university.

It will also be something to watch how much longer their head coach remains in place. She has accomplished a lot, and is about to come into a conference with other strong personalities, when she has been the strongest personality in her conference for a long time. Those are going to be some interesting coach and administrator meetings over the next year or so, I understand there have already been some. She told some media last year that she still had at least a decade in her, but I would be surprised if that was the case.

OU will also be losing their superclass (Coleman, Jennings, etc) and will surely come back down to earth a bit

Agree. In pitching alone they lose Maxwell, May and Keeney. The last recruiting class was very strong even for their standards but will need the portal to supplement in order to remain a contender

I think Gasso has shown that she uses the portal better than anyone. It’s like every other school seems to be a minor league affiliate for Oklahoma. Oklahoma simply analyzes its holes in the off-season and then goes out and gets the best players in the country to fill them…and makes it look effortless.

The fact that Maxwell is there is disappointing and ridiculous. The portal has created a bunch of selfish mercenaries.

I like players like Kiki who sign with a school and stick with their teammates to try to make their team better.

Agree that it’s changed all sports for the worse. OU had a net loss in the portal losing Bahl, Nugent and Jocelyn Erickson

It’s actually sad that OU had to get 3 pitchers from the portal. I can guarantee you that if none of them go to OU, they will have a couple more losses at the end of the year

Agreed Maxwell, crazy. Why did she do it? Lexi coming back and ready to go.
Kiki is the norm, nobody blames anybody when they want more playing time. Do you blame Lair for opting to play for Houston?

Nobody faults a player for transferring to play more. Or one who wants to move closer home like Bahl.

That wasn’t the case with Maxwell or most of the other players who transfer TO Oklahoma.

My wife and I are coming up for Men's Baseball Saturday and an event Friday night. Are Lady Vols tickets on sale at the door before the game Saturday at 12:30?

Also, unless Kilfoyl has taken some big leap that I am not yet aware of, she was not going to cost Maxwell any significant playing time.
