And if there is a single stitch of karma in the fabric of SEC football the other Chief Execs should vote that LSU made more than good faith efforts to get the game in and since Florida created this crapstorm.... "We the committee have decided both teams will cancel their Nov 19 game and the game will be played in Baton Rouge because they didn't act like petulant little children."
This is/was one of the possible solutions I mentioned (although it probably won't fly), however you are leaving out money. LSU isn't going to pay for the South Alabama buyout, and I doubt Florida pays their buyout and loses the home money.
LSU has already said that it is highly unlikely this game will be rescheduled, based on the following I would imagine:
1. Florida doesn't want to play (zero incentive)
2. Florida acted in bad faith no reason to continue to negotiate
3. The SEC possibly acted in bad faith, and didn't mitigate the damages or the outcome
4. $$$$$$
The reason that November 19th
probably won't work even in Baton Rouge:
1. LSU isn't going to eat the South Alabama buyout
2. Florida isn't going to eat their buyout
3. Florida isn't going to give up the home cupcake
4. There is no incentive for Florida, and Florida probably has the SEC by the gonads as well.
The problem isn't Florida, the problem is/was the SEC. I think its unlikely that the game is reschedule but not impossible. Either Florida or LSU could change their stance but based on this week.... I wouldn't hold my breath. This problem squarely falls on the SEC, some mistakes you never quit paying for, this might be one of them.
Don't think for a moment LSU hasn't already drafted legal notice either or is in the process of doing so. I would put the chances of this working out as not good, and the only way it works is if LSU agrees to get shafted even more. Time will tell though.
