How many of those points we pick 6's or fumbles returned for a TD? 28? 35? How many were set up by TO's?

The D has been bad. Really bad much of the time. But the O starting with the QB play has been the worst.

We just don’t look anything like the upper echelon teams of the SEC. Slow, out of position on defense, QB wondering what’s happening in front of him instead of knowing what’s happening, QBs with raw talent not getting developed, erratic play calling by our OC, complete lack of execution on both sides and multiple, complete blow outs of 20+ points or more vs what was our biggest rivals, which now don’t even consider us a worthy opponent. It’s been going on for 12 plus years now. Wtf? We’ve got the *s, yet we don’t get better, ever. The regression is disturbing and obvious. Oh, let’s not mention the lack of willingness to play a 5* QB and the HC is content to trot out JG and admit defeat before we even step in the field.

Read comments today from Saban saying today’s college game has completely changed. You cannor rely on a defense to win football games. The offenseshave to score lots of points to win in today’s game.
He saw the rules changing to advantage the offense. Hence, he benched an excellent QB in J Hurts to play a RS Freshman named Tua. He recruited burners for WRs. He improved pass protection from the Oline. He realized the elite teams that were beating him were outscoring him, not out defensing him. In today’s game the offense helps the defense instead of thepast when your defense kept you in games until the O score a few points. Years ago Power 5 teams rarely beat another Power 5 by 28-35 pts.
Ex: Ala, Ga, LSU, OK, OSU

I didn't think I'd see the D stop Alabama one time before halftime. They scored TDs the first 4 possessions. I think we have much worse problems on D than the offense. JG is catching all the heat, and he is playing bad, but the D can't stop anyone now for 2 1/2 games.

Is it our defense or our offense that is killing this team?
Offense:
Defense has little effect on the offense. Not saying they’ve been good but,
The offense and all the turnovers and 3 n outs really has a terrible effect on the D wearing out

Our offense performs so poorly it demoralizes and wears out our defense. When our offense is not flat out scoring for the other team, they are turning it over deep in our own territory. Then if they do get a series where they don't turn it over, they go 3 and out. You simply cannot win in any league in football scoring 24 points in ten quarters. It just does not happen.

Defense imo. Offense you can at least see potential there if we can find average QB play. Defense...is just a mess. Bryce is pretty solid, Henry T has really disappointed me the last two games, I've seen him flat out quit. Never thought he was the type. The dline couldn't get a pass rush to save their life.

It was the other way around today my friend.

Little of both, but Bama was going to score regardless. Would have been worse with Woddle probably. Our offense stalling also allows other teams offenses to be on field more and causes our defense to wear down

Offense is causing the defense to look worse. We can’t sustain a drive and keep going 3 and out. You HAVE to score in this age of football. Gone are the days where you can win by scoring under 20 points consistently.

That was an excellent article. You have to have a very good offense to be top team. Having an elite defensive team can slow down a good offensive team but no longer stops them. The newer rules trying to protect players really helps the offensive players, especially the passing game. Of course we have a defensive guru as coach and a mediocre offense.
