Too some extent, the job is as relevant as the fans and the athletic department make it. For example, had you asked this question in the 90's the Florida job would have been the only SEC school that would've compared to the UT job,and Bama would have entered the conversation simply because of the tradition.
Looking back to UK's coaching search for a basketball coach, I distinctly remember that tradition and expectation may have been a deterrent rather than a positive when searching for a new head man.
In that sense UT would be a perfect job. They have been more than patient with CPF, and at the same time they have a fan base that travels as well as any and is loyally devoted to the success of the program.
Sure, it might be easier to win at a Florida school or at USC, but as I mentioned in a previous thread, do we want a coach that picks the easy road? In that same line of thinking, it appears that Urban Meyer is at Florida, yet he seems to continue to outwork most coaches in the country when it comes to detail and game prep.
