of losing our history and all our accomplishments are going to slowly fall down the charts. the wins, the bowl appearances, the players drafted etc. everything all the great former vols have worked so hard for to make us what we are today is going to fall by the way side. And what an embarrassment it will be. We might not get our 800th win this season. Although i will admit, i would love nothing more than for it to come against bama. Come on Dooley get your team together and win this season including the bowl game. The future of Tennessee Football depends on this season. We will either add to our accomplishments as a program or start to completely destroy them. GO VOLS!!!
I would not worry about that, at this point. However; if we fire Dooley and it takes 4 or 5 more seasons to get competitive again, then I may really worry.
Notre Dame hit the bottom and has not had a National Championship in decades. Nor have they had a Heisman Trophy winner in decades or very many draft selections per season.
U.S.C. was down, prior to Pete Carroll arriving on campus again. Then the Carson Palmer era began and they have had a decade of winning.
Miami is down right and even got blown away by Kansas State 2 weeks ago. they are not getting the NFL draft selections they once had. Larry Coker messed that program up.
Alabama was down from 1994 - 2007, so they had their issues. They got beat by Kentucky and again by Louisana Monroe. Remember, DeBose, Shula, Price, etc?
Nebraska is not as good as they once were. Solich messed that program up.... Sure they go to bowl games, but they are dominant as they once were.
Prior to the coach they have now, Oklahoma was doing poorly. Then they hired this new coach and started to re build.
My point is that all programs hit peaks and valleys...
Ours is the same way.
We will be on the track to win 8 games per season, and it begins this season. Also, we have a roster full of NFL players, so that will soon change.
We need stability now and then things will be fine.
