it's not a crying thread. it is trying to alert folks that mediocrity is not a going thing and if continued for a long time will ruin the program. but what ever.

Did you stay at a holiday inn last night too? :eek:lol:

Can we have a list of your demands so we can try to get everything you want? I don't want to miss anything and then have your rage explode in another thread.

laugh or whatever. this is true and you all know it. if you fans now a days love mediocrity than that is part of the problem at tennessee. mediocrity is not acceptable to me this year. 9 wins or better every season with a minimum of an sec east title every other year. and an sec championship every 3 years. and a national title every 4 years at least.

this is not a freak out thread it's design to let others know that mediocrity will kill this program faster than a jack rabbit running down a turtle.

Yeah it got killed all right by Fulmer.

Congratulations on the most ridiculous thread I have read in years. You cannot be serious, except you are. An SEC East every other year and a national championship every 4 years is profoundly unrealistic. And frankly, it is unrealistic expectations such as these that fuel your crap and other kinds of crap that have been posted on this site all week. You see, everything goes in cycles. We appear to be on the upswing of a down cycle. All the great programs- Michigan, Nebraska, USC, Notre Dame, etc, all do the same thing. Relax, go have a few beers if you are old enough, and give your words some logical thought before the next time you get on here and embarrass yourself and VolNation.

OP,

What do you propose to get UT out of this rut? What do you think UT's all time winning percentage is? It's about 68%. In a 13 game season (including bowl game) that's 8-9 wins per year. I think most people predicted 8-9 wins this season, so historically this UT team will be average if they finish where most people predict.

A lot of younger fans are spoiled from 1989 through 2001. The SEC is stronger than ever. For UT to reach the levels you want is certainly a stretch and probably isn't going to happen.

of losing our history and all our accomplishments are going to slowly fall down the charts. the wins, the bowl appearances, the players drafted etc. everything all the great former vols have worked so hard for to make us what we are today is going to fall by the way side. And what an embarrassment it will be. We might not get our 800th win this season. Although i will admit, i would love nothing more than for it to come against bama. Come on Dooley get your team together and win this season including the bowl game. The future of Tennessee Football depends on this season. We will either add to our accomplishments as a program or start to completely destroy them. GO VOLS!!!

I really hope you are a young kid, b/c if not you should be ashamed of yourself. Please feel free to leave the fan base b/c it's people like you who give us a bad name... You also clearly have ZERO football IQ b/c if you did you would know what the situation was when Dooley took the job and that this season was the first where we would START to see improvement due to a large lack of depth the first two years under Dooley.

I completely agree we need to win big games to eventually get to where we all want to be, but kid the next time you think about posting something go ask a grown up to proof read it and make sure it's not the dumbest post of the day.

It's extremely lame to start an inflamatory thread then cry and moan about the ensuing beatdown your taking over it.

Lighten up Frances. UT just played a bad second half. The football team just needs to play better and the wins will come. We should finish 8-4 still (I hope).

I would not worry about that, at this point. However; if we fire Dooley and it takes 4 or 5 more seasons to get competitive again, then I may really worry.
Notre Dame hit the bottom and has not had a National Championship in decades. Nor have they had a Heisman Trophy winner in decades or very many draft selections per season.
U.S.C. was down, prior to Pete Carroll arriving on campus again. Then the Carson Palmer era began and they have had a decade of winning.
Miami is down right and even got blown away by Kansas State 2 weeks ago. they are not getting the NFL draft selections they once had. Larry Coker messed that program up.
Alabama was down from 1994 - 2007, so they had their issues. They got beat by Kentucky and again by Louisana Monroe. Remember, DeBose, Shula, Price, etc?
Nebraska is not as good as they once were. Solich messed that program up.... Sure they go to bowl games, but they are dominant as they once were.
Prior to the coach they have now, Oklahoma was doing poorly. Then they hired this new coach and started to re build.
My point is that all programs hit peaks and valleys...
Ours is the same way.

We will be on the track to win 8 games per season, and it begins this season. Also, we have a roster full of NFL players, so that will soon change.
We need stability now and then things will be fine.
