I am trying to use logic in your thinking NeylandDrive. The state of the football program rests entirely on the head coach and the team performance. The program has been on the downside for several years. The fans have every right to express their displeasure with the program whether it is calling in to radio shows, television shows, not going to games, etc. I believe Vol fans have been patient over the years with the apparent downfall of the program. The fans cannot be held responsible for what I see as apathy, lack of motivation, and consistency within the program. If you want to see enthusiastic fans then improvements need to be made with the motivation, performance, and consistency of the team. Accountability resides within the coach and team, not the fans.

Our recruiting at this point for the coming year sucks and this is due to everyone calling for the coachs head, the persistant negativity towards our players, and complete apathy in general. We had some recruits in the stadium Saturday and the fan intensity sucked, great impression.

Vol fans, wake up, support our team, stop griping and moaning. If you want to wallow in pity,negativity and self destruction then go become an Alabama fan.

when you get blown out in 3 games. recruits start to wonder if they really want to come here and play

What is this supposed to mean?

If you are trying to insinuate that I am some teenager working at the mall with your moronic statement then you are wrong. I am a 40yo professional with much more than what most would call a decent salary. Even if I did work at the mall, what difference would it have made. Do you have to make a certain salary before your opinions are taken seriously on this board?

The problem is that you rants sound like a high school teenager that is upset because the crowd has not cheering loud enough. You get respect with threads that are useful, not childish. The fan base here are not the ones sitting on our hands at the game.

If you had properly read my post, you would have noticed that was exactly my point. I said what difference should it make? The other poster is the one that suggested I worked at the mall ( as in some teenager with nothing worthwhile to add to the conversation). This is how I interpreted their post to me. Maybe they can correct me if I did not understand their intent.
