Bama:
-Again playing in Neyland with an unexperienced QB in a pro style offense, possibly running some wildcat? How did that offense work against UT last year @BAMA?!!
Bama will not be playing with an unexperienced QB if thats what you mean. Their QB from last year is returning from the best of my knowledge. He was only a junior last year.
However, Bama has some holes to fill on defense. They have to replace their entire D-line and some other significant spots.
I think we will get 8-9 wins in 2010 when it's all said and done. Our defense will be more experienced than last year. The QB and O-Line play are the real question marks. However, with this staff I'm not worried a bit.
Go Vols!
Sounds like there's going to be a lot of disappointed Vol fans when the end of October rolls around. People's expectations are WAY too high. What in the world gives people the idea that this team will be able to go on the road and beat UGA or USCjr? It sounds like most folks are almost marking those down as wins already. There aren't any given wins in SEC play these days. Dooley and co. have enough of an uphill battle without rediculous, out of the park expectations. Again, it's not the mid-90's anymore, we don't win 9 or 10 games just because we show up to the stadium each Saturday. Adjust your expectations to coincide with reality, and this rebuilding process will be much easier for all of us. It's going to take SEVERAL years.
Why is everyone willing to give Oregon, Florida, and Alabama up as given losses?
Oregon:
-Must fly across the country to play us at Neyland
-Will be playing against a DC that shut them down last year with less talent
-May very well be playing without a suspended starting QB and RB and definitely will be playing without one of their best LBs
-Our offense will be better under Chaney's sole direction; not to mention there is no way that our best WRs can all be injured to start another season?
Florida:
-Again playing in Neyland with a talented, but unexperienced QB in a pro style offense, possibly running some wildcat? How did that offense work against against UT last year @BAMA?!!
-Again, our offense should be better and Florida will have a ton of inexperience on defense!
-This will also be early in the season and Florida will have a difficult time preparing for Wilcox's defense, because he changed them from game to game at Boise State
Bama:
-Again playing in Neyland with an unexperienced QB in a pro style offense, possibly running some wildcat? How did that offense work against UT last year @BAMA?!! This year the QB will be less experienced and our LBs + DEs are more experienced!
-No Mt. Coy and our kicker has to be better this season! lol
***Don't anybody forget that if Palardy can kick the ball into the endzone like everybody has hyped him to be able to do, this will be a huge upgrade to our football team*** If every team we play has to go 80 yds. for tds after every UT score that is friggin' HUGE!!! That will improve our team exponentiallly! Let's just hope it's true!
If we manage 9 wins this season- everyone will deserve a raise and extension!
As I think we should all know at this point, these days, contracts are worth about as much as the 8.5x11 paper they're written on.
It's a shame, that Hamilton hired someone, that "has to prove themself"
UT Martin, UAB, Ole Piss, Vandy, Memphis are all wins.
South Carolina, Kentucky, Georgia are all in the air at this point. KY is probably going to snap the streak this year.
Oregon could possibly come in and lay an egg but I doubt it.
