Tennessee Bowl Game speculation (merged)

I hope Wisconsin loses to Hawaii this weekend & the Outback gets stuck with AU vs. Northwestern…..good luck with that!

TENNESSEE beating a ranked VT team will be much sweeter than beating a cupcake big 11 team anyway…….GO VOLS!!!!!!

Back to the thread: I never wanted to go to the Outback Bowl. Number one because it is too far for me to drive, and number two because although it is in Florida, it is not really in the recruiting hotbed of the state.

I had hoped that the Cotton Bowl was in the picture because I am so close to Dallas and it would be sweet to play in Jerry World. But, although there is a great deal of talent in Texas, it doesn't seem to be heavily targeted by the Vols for recruiting.

CLK has stated numerous times how important Georgia is for UT recruiting efforts. Atlanta is close enough that the Tennessee fans can come out in force, and it will be the only prime time game of the day so all of that lovely orange will be featured on TV. Not only that, but all of the New Year's Day bowls will be showing the Tennessee highlights from the night before.

Let the Barners buy their way into the Outback. I doubt that CLK and company care at all.

mike the tiger>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>aubie
LSU>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Aubie. They don't even need to go unbeaten to win national titles. Apparently Auburn can go unbeaten and no one cares.

I dont go over there, the only reason I posted here was the Michael Dyer and Trevon Reed issue and guest what? I was right. I dont post stuff unless i know for fact

See how those questions are avoided. Thats why bammers should keep their mouths shut. They will avoid it every time. Also hey bammer. Ive always wondered if it embarrasses your fans to have a elephant mascot and go around yelling roll tide? That has got to be the goofiest thing Ive have ever seen. Who ever came up with that is dumber than dirt. Just saying. Guarantee you bammer wont say a thing. It will be off the subject.
And that is worse than having a Tiger for a mascot and yelling "war eagle?"

So anyways, did we get pushed back because our fans wouldn't travel? No one answered before.

I don't think it matters who we play. It's in the GA Dome, so we probably won't be winning. That place has been a nightmare for us, and not just in football. Our hoops team hasn't fared much better there either.

Different staff=different outcome

This staff should have this team playing extremely well with 4 weeks to prepare no matter who/where we play!

doubt anyone really knows but the rumor is AU made a backroom deal with the bowl promising more tickets/fans

True.. But our defense looks like it is about to collapse... And GT has the offense that could kill us.

I agree that we would have a better chance against a Big 10 team. I'm just saying, don't chalk it down as a loss. Monte will have a month to watch film and the players have a month to get healthy.

They felt that we wouldn't be excited to go back to the same bowl we've been two the past two times we've been bowling...basically most of our traveling fans probably made one of those two trips and may not come back again.

The payout is kind of quirky, 3 million to the ACC and 2.4 million to the SEC. I guess that is because it's the #3 ACC team playing. Outback pays 3 million to both teams.

Did we do all right with our ticket allotment the last few Outback Bowls? I'm pretty sure Auburn did terrible against Wisconsin on the field and in the stands.

Man that crap happened back in 2004. Thats yrs ago. This is now. Bring something to the table thats not past. Thats was freaking 6 yrs ago. Its irrelevant
