Im just curious, but did we have the power T before Texas did or the other way around?

i was wondering this after i saw a texas hat with a T on it. i thought i was imagining things and it was just a longhorn symbol. i would guess we had it first, they copy everything else :p

(in case you didn't know) the reason we switched from the old UT interlocking symbol thing is because Texas sued us for the rights to use it.

i think we won tha right to use it again by beating them tha last two years in basketball, right.

we gave texas independence, and after many years, they give us vince young in return. alot of pressure on that young man. no pun intended.

Living in West Texas....I can't begin to tell you how these idiots think out here...I havea big orange "T" on the back window of my truck (the one on our helmets), and actually have had somebody tell me that they had never seen a Univ of Texas "T" in that color....I just shook my head and walked away. Today, I come off the golf course and am watching the last 4 min of the game, when the asst. pro came in and asked when the UT game began...I said it's on...He said no....the UT game, I said it's on...he looked at the tv and started laughing. I said let me tell you something...we are the real UT, with the real orange...and we were the real UT 103 years before you you people ha ever used the phrase UT...

I live in Dallas it's not much better here. The University of Tennessee exitsted decades before the University of Texas. I hate those liberal longhorn douchebags

The T that Texas uses is not the same as the T Tennessee uses. Ours is the power T and is trademarked. If you'll look at the T Texas uses it doesn't have the curves at the top of the T and at the base like ours does. Their's is just plain with no character or curves to it.

However, we may want to be nice to those Texas folks this week, in the hopes that the neutral crowd will be cheering on our boys down there.

I'd like to see these Vols have a better outcome than the last bunch of Vols that went down to San Antonio ... Anybody remember the Alamo?

Considering we've got a sharpshooter in Lofton, I like our chances this time around. :)

Alot of t-shirt sip fans wear the Tennessee T hats and think they are wearing Longhorn gear. It is truly funny to see a horn shirt with a UT hat, they honestly have no clue.

It was some time in the late 80's and we were both using the Power T.

The single T, with the down turned cross-bar.

It turns oout that even though Tennesssee was the first UT, Texas had Trademarked the single Power T.

Texas sued and won, Tennessee then went to side be side UT, with the cross bar in the shape of the State

I don't think it was in the 80's was it? Because I remember us using the interlocking UT on our football field in the mid 90's
