No it's just that the east was down when Butch coached and recruited those players. Let's face it. The only reason we won the games we did back then was because of his star players such as Dobbs, Hurd, Kamara, Jennings pulling wins out of their asses.
We've not been consistent at QB as of late. JG has improved, but idk if that's enough to win 9 games next season. Maybe he will, or maybe HB comes in and lights it up, idk.
All im saying is calling for Pruitts head if he doesn't get us 9 wins is a little premature imo.
Why? Was Butch a terrible recruiter? I don't recollect that, but I'm willing to be educated.
Mullen is a terrible recruiter (besides this year). We have taken Georgia's OC. What should expectations be in year in the third year? I'm not a Botch apologist, but he won nine games. He's two miracle throws from 10. My expectations are nine wins next year at a minimum. If that doesn't happen, Pruitt needs to go.
Bless your heart. Your reading comprehension is seriously lacking. 8 wins next year is an improvement. Our schedule next year is tougher. According to you we should fire Pruitt if we don't win 9 games? Yeah that's smart, let's fire another coach and begin yet another round of the f*©kery we've endured the past decade. What coach are we going to hire? Maybe you should turn your application in the athletic dept since you're an expert. So you are saying if there's not improvement in year three, we should just accept it? JG is not relevant. Pruitt has had time to get his own QB in place. And I have no clue what your position about winning under Butch because we had "star players" is hoping to accomplish. So Butch recruited and coached up "star players"? Dumb post
I'm glad we are back to where they fear us enough to try and trash us.Messageboard fans of one SEC rival sniping at another SEC rival. Imagine that. Glad we are above that.
I loathe the gators, but I like Trask. The kid has moxey and how he stepped up and finished the season is impressive. I love stories about low rated players becoming great.Still struggling to be concerned over improving our QB situation, but I appreciate your attempts to change my mind.
Trask was behind a highly rated dual threat QB who wound up signing at Houston.
That said, Trask was a 2* recruit with an offer list that included Tulsa, Louisiana Lafayette, Fresno State and some school named Houston Baptist. UF was his only P5 offer.

Butch had high recruiting classes, but he did not recruit the kind of players needed to compete at the line of scrimmage in the SEC. He was a terrible game-day coach way in over his head. I mentioned those "star" players because 1) yes, they are the only reason we won games we shouldn't have.
2) notice how we went 4-8 and winless in the SEC when those players left.
3) you're the one who was complaining how he had winning seasons and we're not there yet.
Idk if you're just oblivious to reality or what. JG has had what 4-5 frikin different OC's, and hadsn't lived up to his recruiting ranking. Wonder why? He's had no stability in coaching! You said Pruitt has had time to get a competent QB in place. Who would that be exactly? Which elite QB do you think he could of pulled here in the dumpster fire that was our program? Thank your lucky stars Harrison Bailey is coming. Pruitt and co. are coaching up these guys. They are a young group, but they are showing promise. He got rid of the cancers on the team and what do ya know, the team improved. They're buying in. We've got some elite coaches on our staff who know what they're doing. I think I can speak for the majority of fans when I say this is a 4-5yr rebuild. You though can't see the forest for the trees.
Oh yeah, the talent left by Butch was good enough to compete with everyone except Bama and GA. The same talent that he didn't develop? That had a losing mindset and entitled attitude? That had no strength and conditioning for over 2 seasons? Yeah they were "talented" on paper, but it pretty much ends there. Our dl and ol players he left us with were all under 300lbs! That will get you beat in the SEC.The reading comprehension attack! Always a winner. And no, this isn't a 4-5 rebuild. The only two teams on our schedule that have vastly superior rosters are Alabama and Georgia. There is no reason in year three JP shouldn't win at least nine regular season games. I agree with you that Botch was a terrible game-day coach, but he didn't leave us devoid of talent to compete and beat anyone except the likes of Alabama and Georgia. After three recruiting cycles, ground should be made up, and it's not. Bless your heart.
I actually expected to beat Vandy this yr lol, but Mizzou, I expected to lose before and after the first half of the season. Expected to win a close one once they derailed during the second half. Exactly what happened. Go me lol.Auburn and Kentucky were ranked so they were upsets. We were underdogs against Mizzou and Vandy and they both had good senior Qb’s. Stop trying to revise history in order to slam Pruitt at the end of the season. No one expected us to win the last two games.
Hmm, curious to see if Butch was their main recruiter or someone else on his staff. He recruited well because he picked whatever blue-chips he could find. He didn't coach and develop them properly once they got here. A handful rised above the ashes, but as a whole, the majority didnt achieve much. Butch was just an AAC coach pretending he had what it took to run a blue-blood program.Trey Smith, Jashon Robertson, Jack Jones, Ryan Johnson, Cade Mays, Kahlil McKenzie and Derek Barnett all say hey.

If you look at the roster going into Pruitts first year, there were only 8 dl/ol of Butch's players that weighed over 300lbs. Don't act like our o-line wasn't complete trash because you, I, and everybody else knows it was.

Let me know if you need more information. You delusional Butch worshippers baffle me.
Are there no leafs on your clover?I'm glad we are back to where they fear us enough to try and trash us.
