Tell me how we can make the CFP

I personally think its impossible and for sure is not happening but let’s humor this astronomical long shot scenario…

So how does it happen?
7 teams have all their starters get busted for betting on their own games and shaving points and are suspended . That may do it.

Stanford has to beat Notre Dame. And there’s zero chance that happens. They are horrible. The rest is reasonably possible , half even probable. BYU another long long shot to lose.

Win at least 10-12 regular season games. Next year, that is. Actually, maybe 9 with 16 teams next year

You would need the following to happen and cause Chaos:

Tennessee blows the absolute brakes off Vandy.

Bama loses Iron Bowl
Oklahoma loses to LSU
BYU and Tech and Utah to all lose their final regular season games

You’d then need Miami and Virginia to lose theirs.

Stanford to beat Notre Dame

Oh and Michigan to lose to Ohio State.

While we wouldn’t hold the head to head against a 3 loss Bama and Oklahoma,
I don’t think they’d matter if you had several teams in a pool of 3 losses.

All of that happens and you would maybe have a chance at the conversation but likely still left out.

I like the CFP, but can't stand the selection committee.

Why not just have all conference champions and runner ups in the CFP.
I like some variation of that. If you're not in the running for your conference title then i have no need to see your ass in a championship playoff. I would like to see the committee use the BCS rankings to pick the top 12 teams.. although I think 8 is enough. Much after that, you're playing too many football games in one year, in my opinion.

Some of the teams ahead of us are ranked as though they are taking all AP classes and their GPA is compared to GPA's of students taking general study classes in high school. Every team needs to have a number based on their schedule team wins and losses. Its not set up that way, that's exactly why we have three losses to top ten teams and are punished in the polls for it.
