Tee Martin

The assistants are only as good as the HC will allow them. Pruitt micro managed and meddled to much on the offensive side of the ball. I think Tee and Jay are both good coaches and ambassadors for the program. No o e brought in will recruit as hard as these two VFL.
HCs want to install their program they on football program. That is why they were hired. On the other hand many assistant coaches are hired more for their recruiting abilities than their coaching abilities. Assistant coaches who are hired because of their coaching abilities are turned loose and allowed to install their schemes. Dave Clawson is a good example of a coach who was hired to install his offense. He failed and was quickly fired and probably cost Fulmer his job. Most assistant coaches know how they will be used when they are hired. The ones who do well move up the coaching chain; those who do not do well move from team to team or sell cars.

Should have been QB coach - Winke was garbage

That is what I thought. I never have understood why assistant coaches will coach other type players. It would be like Weinke coaching TE or WR. Like Jay Graham going to coach special teams, just strange to me. Seems they should coach what they were trained from high school thru college to play.

For those thinking Tee got a raw deal...other than play QB at Tennessee what has he done? What did he accomplish as a coach in his time here?

I get that. But do you interview every position coach because they want an interview or do you interview serious candidates for the job.

Tee's history for the last 10 years has been WR Coach with the few years he was given PGC at USC and then OC at USC in his final two years where he was fired. Love the player, but his coaching history says to me he's a great recruiter but schools are hesitant on giving him bigger roles. Tee needs to humble himself and go somewhere small and work up and get away from being the WR coach.
Totally agree. Just throwing it out there.

Using this logic, then the fans need to stop saying that the coordinators suck. If they are running what the HC coach wants, then technically it is not the coordinators fault but yet the fans are demanding they get fired.

Since CJH will be calling his own plays, what exactly would a OC be required to do?
Martin could be promoted to OC, pay bump.
I don’t know what went on behind the scenes with Tee and Pruitt, apparently lack of respect for each other. Tee stopped caring possibly, knew Pruitts days were numbered, who knows.
Tee does connect with the kids. with the right leadership, attitude could chance as well.
Seems there is a connection with CJH and Tee.
Just going to sit back and watch this drama unfold.

This is the reason Peyton will never coach here or even consider coaching here.

Peyton won't coach anywhere.

1. Because he doesn't have to.

2. And he doesn't want to.

Somebody name all of the HoF players that became awesome coaches. If the list exists, it's very short.

Tee and Jay are VFL's. I wish them nothing but the best. They gave up some of their salary this year so that staff didn't get laid off or let go while everybody else did not.

Pretty sure morals have nothing to do with it. You are either qualified or not. At that level, you don't give feel good interviews.
No you were asking me what is worse. My morals may be totally different from yours and one of those choices may be worse to me from a morality standpoint.

or people apply for openings....you know....because that's how people get jobs
How many head coaching jobs has Tee applied for? You do know that multiple coaches apply for a job right? He hasn't been chosen because he hasn't proven himself in any capacity yet. He might do that one day, but not right now. Tee Martin has been coaching since 2006. If he hasn't had any offers to be the head man anywhere to this point, he probably never will.
