Tee Martin

If you're being honest Tee the player is a legend

Tee the coach is not where he needs to be to take over Tennessee. We love to eat our own when winning expectations are not met. Being a legend player does not mean you get the entitlement keys to the house. Hindsight being 20/20, maybe he should of taken the WR sooner under Butch rather than going back to USC

From the looks of this tweet by Peerless, Tee may not be getting retained. His contract expires this week. View attachment 345861
If it's true he leaked the investigation to the media, I can see why he may not be retained. I'm sure there are lots of players who love and respect him and I'm also sure he'll land on his feet somewhere if he's not retained. That's a very big part of being a coach. The new coach always brings in guys who he trusts and respects.

The hate for Tee Martin is unbelievable! WOW!

Man wins the only National Title in the last 50 years......yet u got.......

some fans dont wanna give him credit
some fans dont want him to coach
some fans disrespect him every chance they get

Its not like the man is walking around arrogantly asking folk to kiss his back side. he just trying to coach at his alma mater and make a living. Aint been disrespectful to no one. Some of yall really f'd up and others just flat out against color.
Oh boy, here we go. You and Ktownqueen must take turns watching the forums.

This is the reason Peyton will never coach here or even consider coaching here.

I feel for Tee. He's a good man, and a great VFL. Wish him the best wherever he lands.

*nod* and not only that, but the reports over the past several days were that he and Jay were the only two assistant coaches busting their butts to try to keep the players informed and taken care of, keep fellas from leaving through the portal, sacrificing for the program even though the handwriting was probably on the wall for themselves.

The folks not showing Tee respect in this thread really ought to rethink.
I assume he was getting paid to 'bust his butt.'

Sure. A lot of us get paid, too, whether minimum wage or a whole helluva lot. And look at us, we're all wasting our time on vn.com while some of us are supposed to be working. :)

Not casting aspersions, heh, just saying. Just because it was Tee's job to be an assistant coach, that doesn't lessen the value of us recognizing that he and Jay, alone of the remaining assistant coaches, were working hard to do the right things for our players and program.

Good ole boy and VFL has not done anything for this program. Time to move on and try something new. What has Tee done, nothing, thanks for being a good QB for us. Come back and visit sometime

Man I love Peerless but I hate stuff like this. What exactly did he sacrifice? A free education to play football? Becoming wealthy by coaching?

He sacrificed staying and trying to keep a team on campus instead of just sitting by watching them all head to the Portal. Plus, he convinced a JUCO WR to sign even when we didn't have a coach. That's dedication. And all you that want to stick to a baseless rumor about not attending meetings know nothing. He knew Pruitt and Neids were dirty. Every coach in the SEC knew as well. It was about the school and not the coach.

And for coaching up the WR's, Calloway, Jennings, and now Palmer were under his coaching. All getting a shot even though the QB could scarcely get them the ball. WR wasn't our weakness nor has it been since he arrived. Guess you forgot the blocking that those We'd do on running plays.

Well there is another way to look at that self benefit for Tee. Others in the athletics industry will notice Tee's professionalism and take note. Players will remember how Tee treated them individually. All of these should motivate Tee and give him self satisfaction.

As a player, I appreciate everything he did in his time at Tennessee. That being said, his coaching time here has been pedestrian at best. I wish him nothing but the best but his time has passed

Tee is a drama Queen. His contract was running out 1/31 regardless. I doubt any coach from the 2020 cluster disfunctional staff will be retained.
I could see JG being retained. The running backs did improve, plus he is a pretty good recruiter. He can also speak of UT glory days and what it means to be a Vol.

Guess he shouldn’t have been the whistleblower. You think another coach wants someone on the coaching staff that refused to go to meetings last year and can’t be trusted.

You want to work for somone who's dirty and knowingly allowed other coaches to be dirty and doing it at the school you love? But, guess he's just supposed to shuffle and Yessa boss tho.
