Still curious what our plans for David Johnson are. He's one of the best position coaches and recruiters in the nation. We haven't replaced Charles Kelly, though. Does this mean Coach YAC is leaving or could it mean a new role for him? Could move over to RBs, but would also be interesting if he moved to DBs.

Have to realize what Tee’s goals are, long term.
He wants to be a head coach, sooner than later. There is a reason he has not been a head coach yet. Needs more polishing.
With Fulmer, Pruitt and Chaney, he will begin to learn the ins and outs of being a head coach, so in a few years he will be ready and successful as he helps UT get back to where we belong

Co-OC is pretty title only. Chaney will have primary control but I would expect Tee is being groomed though and will get a look when Chaney retires or leaves. Tee will mainly coach WRs, recruit and learn.

The only thing I found was Ga Tech , Louisville offered him a job and he wanted the OC job at Miami and Austin Peay was interested in him as a possible HC. Other than that found nothing
Tee Martin picks the Vols over other SEC schools
Low tells WVLT that both Alabama and Auburn Universities came hard after Tee and that Vanderbilt head coach Derek Mason offered him the Commodores Offensive Coordinator position. In then end Tee, who had been talking with UT and Jeremy Pruitt for some time, decided returning to Rocky Top would be the best thing for him.

Tee is going to be there to keep Chaney from going too conservative like UGA had Coley do.

He will have input on game planning and playcalling with Chaney making final calls. Not hard to understand.

Nah. Thats the HCs job. Not a position coach. Tee wasn't hired to keep Chaney from doing anything. Pruitt and Fulmer both thought Chaney was worth 1.5+ a year. Thats not happening if you think he needs a babysitter.

The entire offensive staff has "input" to a degree, that's not uncommon anywhere across the country.

Vandy was the only school out of that group with interest in Tee as the OC. Id bet UT, Bama, and AU all 3 offered him more money to be a position coach and recruiter than Vandy did as an OC.
