If there’s one position we can handle a transfer, it’s RB. We have Evans, Small, Wright, and Beckwith in the backfield.

I certainly don’t blame this young man for leaving to get some playing time somewhere. By the time it would have been “his turn,” he likely would have been recruited over.

Just everyone seeking greener pastures rather than hanging around while “waiting for their turn”.
Everyone’s career has an expiration date and it’s hard to fault guys that want to play, we’re basically in a free agency mode now. The problem for the kids is that the one-time transfer means they’re likely to wind up in another similar situation with no parachute next time.

That’s sad. I wish the kid the best of luck, but it’s kind of sad that we’ve reached a point where if adversity strikes the first move now is to run from it and find a place where you’ll be able to hide from it.

I don't know that anyone lied to him. We just recruited too many RBs. It was inevitable that some of them were going to leave after not winning spots in the rotation. And Hodge was a much better fit with Pruitt's offense than Heupel's.

The more shocking thing to me is that Whitehead still hasn't moved over to LB. Somehow, he's decided it's better to be a 6th string RB than potentially start or be in the 2-deep at LB.

This is what all the people clamoring about transfers wanted. This is the new normal for college sports. Any time, any reason. All the talking heads who swore it wouldn’t change things knew too, they just didn’t care because talking about transfers is one more thing they can spin to get clicks and ad revenue.

A run between the tackles guy playing in a spread the field offense. Good student, seems like a good guy.

Or who’s advising them within their own circle. Not always the coaching staff, they get you on campus and tell you what you want to hear.

with the new rules, why not just wait til after that the season? He will be immediately eligible for next season regardless.
