Tee Hodge In Transfer Portal

He’s not good enough. Said it when he signed. Said it last year. I never understood this take. Waste of an initial counter/scholarship. Some of y’all wanted to argue with me.

Although whoever else Pruitt would’ve signed instead probably would’ve left too.

You know what Pruitt was thinking. I can move him to defense.

Don't be this guy.
Got off your high horse! It’s big boy football! In case you haven’t heard, CFB is changing fast and the ncaa is dying! From the Scholarship #’s thread:
I disagree! I believe it would help tremendously schools like TN and everyone else outside the top 10! Guys want to play, not be buried 3 deep when they are talented but have to wait two years! All the changes coming are = to free agency and it’s only going to accelerate so get used to it! All of these changes can only help Vols recover faster!

This younger generation wants everything immediately

This is not about "this younger generation". If the transfer portal and NIL existed 20, 30 or 40 years ago, this same thing would have happened. Today kids don't have to wait their turn if they find another program in which they can get their turn right now.

We live in a world now where all the money is out on the table and I cant fault this kid one bit for taking advantage of a situation the NCAA has now allowed him to take advantage of.

Get ready, this isnt the end.

yeah, they've got such a lame program over there. In my recollection, neither George Quarles nor Derek Hunt have ever mentioned that they are preparing young men for greatness in college football.

This is a college football board. They have a great high school program but very very few of their players achieve anything in major college.

Lots of assumptions that this kid is transferring because he wasn't going to see the field. I'm not saying that's not the reason, but I think we could all benefit from tapping the brakes and giving the kid the benefit of the doubt. After all, what is there to gain?

I remember when he was a prospect that we had to have or it was all over for recruiting. Local kid, I hope he finds a good spot.

Carl Stewart was a very good fullback for Auburn with Cadillac and Ronnie Brown.

Aaron Douglass was a freshman- All American with us.

Tyler Maples transferred to Furman.

Clemson recruited an Olineman from there.

Cade Thompson started for like 2 games with South Carolina.

Scott Wilkes was probably the best player I ever saw play coming out of Muurville.
Played LB at Marshall. Not sure how he did there.

Yeah Maryville is a great high school program, that kind of stays their lane.

Independence High School in Charlotte was in the midst of a 100+ game win-streak while Maryville was in the midst of their 77 game win-streak . And Independence offered to come play them IN Tennessee....
Qualrles said "nope" haha.

They recruited illegally, changed grades for players and avoid the great teams in other states for a reason. Lol they would find out these other schools arent exactly Heritage and William Blount

When kids transfer after a year of not getting to play, I don’t blame the kid. I blame whoever lied to them in the recruiting process and told them they were going to compete for a starting spot
Where is the lie? Did he not suit up and complete?
Results Bazel, results.

This is ridiculous. He has 5 backs listed ahead of him and 1 is a year younger. Three are the same age, one is older. He sees the writing on the wall. Don't be silly, he wants to go somewhere and play, as would you and all your friends. He sees that he's not likely to ever do so here.

What kind of proof do you have for any of this?? I mean they beat practically everyone they play constantly. Alcoa who has won like 6 state championships in a row has beat them like twice in 15 years. Alcoa has a roster of “transfers” but everyone screams Maryville recruits

Guess he couldn’t beat out Small and gang.

I don't know, and will not venture a guess. But, and this is just my opinion concerning the off season circus from what I imagine from a player's perspective: With the long history of instability that has ben seen in Knoxville, I really can't fault them going somewhere else. This is why it has gotten harder to bring in and/or retain recruits.

Probably not. With the way Evans and Small played tonight, the highlights of Hodge I have seen from him in HS is just not in the same league. But that's OK; Carson-Newman, Maryville College or Tennessee Tech can use transfers too.
