Tee coming home...

Tee's comment about Hurd being soft and terrible is something that most Volfans would now agree with. It is not something he intended to have public dissemination. ESPN was being intrusive. If anything to me, it was a clear indication that he still cared about our program even though he was working for USC.

Nice twist but the likely scenario is it was the truth as he believed it. He made a comment not thinking it would be made public, basically forgetting espn had all access. It's a mistake we have all made, but unfortunately someone in his position is under a spotlight for it. All I am saying is I hope he has learned from it.

The deal has not been so public so only a few know what it was.

With that said, showing up in USC gear and bashing a recruit on National TV are bigger issues in my opinion.

And I don’t think it’s fair to say he knew in advance he was gonna get lowballed and that’s why he wore USC gear. If he knew he was getting lowballed, he wouldn’t have made the trip.

I just find it hilarious the about face people are doing. I think he would be a good addition, but it looks more likely he actually jumped at Tennessee this go around because the rest of his offers weren’t great.

both can be true. Find it hilarious the all or nothing crowd is at full tilt right now.

So basically you are upset about clothing choice and the fact that he called the guy that quit in the middle of a game soft.... you have zero idea what was going on.... he could have been on a recruiting trip and stopped by to hear what we had to offer.

Either way it doesn’t matter..... he really helps us bring in talent and will be a great help getting us back on top.

Lol. Amazing take there.

So called out and now you run off? That’s cool.
Called out? Stop being ridiculous lol. I’m not running off, I’m just stopping this train wreck of a discussion with someone who clearly has an agenda and couldn’t even begin to listen to reason. You have your opinion and I will leave you with it.

You make it sound like folks have a huge grudge with Tee. I’m sure the Peyton Posse does.

My only issue with Tee is he spurned us twice when he was at his “hottest” candidacy for jobs. We are now hiring him after washing out at USC and his offers were pretty weak. Feels like a pity hire by us. Outside of him spurning us and trashing our recruits on national TV, I have no issue. Just an odd timing and hire.
I am a Tennessee fan from long ago and will be one forever. I support every sport both men and women. I will support Tee even though I have questions about his coachng abilities. I do think he will help in the recruiting and know you have to have the Jimmys and Joes to win Championships, so his contribution in recruiting will be helpful. I still wonder what changed his mind about leaving SoCal because of his wife's insistance on staying on the West coast. I hope it works out and he can help us in what ever capacity he fills. I think Johnson is the best WR coach we have had in a number of years and would like to see him remain at that position. I think we need super recruiters on our staff and know that when R Garner was on our staff he recruited the best players out of Georgia which led to the 1998 Championship team. He has recruited well at both UGa and Auburn and still recruits very well. However, he has not coached on aother National Championship team. Tee has recruited well at USC but he has never coached on a National Championship team. I hope he can do that at Tennessee. As I said, I will support Tee as long as he is a coach at Tennessee.

It is to me an indication that he's a good judge of talent and character.

To allow the grudge holding Vol fans a chance to be in bed first so they wouldn’t have to be up all night tore up about it.

.............guess who's up........we were good until about page 7.

So having an opinion that isn’t 100% in lock step with the all or nothing “fans” is an agenda?

I guess that’s the way the world is getting today. Either submit and follow 100% or have an agenda because you agree 80-90%....

Definitely young people logic.

So far Pruitt is slaying the offseason.

Very ironic that we may have Weinke and Tee on staff together. Who would've seen that.

Another example of life being stranger than fiction. I didn't even think about that until I saw your post.

Lets face it, if Bama goes after Pruitt, it’s means a few things:

-Dabo said no
-Kirby said no
-Bama going after Pruitt means Tennessee has had success we haven’t had in over decade. If Bama is chasing Pruitt, they would be settling with him although he would be the home grown coach, they could steal a coach from a rival, and Tennessee is winning.

If Pruitt turned down Bama, I’m stoked because he will have chosen to stay apart of a winning program.

However, that situation and Tee’s have zero comparison

If Bama doesn't go after Pruitt, then things @ to get ugly in the next 2-3 years round here.

Agreed. But unless Pruitt wins a natty or two or even a league title or two, Bama hiring him means they settled because Dabo said no and Pruitt had marginal success

Now, all of this negativity out here is absolutely uncalled for. Tee is still a VFL, and certainly deserves some kind of welcoming back to Knoxville. Whatever it was in the past is buried under the hatchet.
Let’s open our hearts and arms with some ❤️
WELCOME HOME TEE!

Tee is family and you welcome family home with love and forgive any past. I never had a problem with anything he did in the past anyway. He was right about Hurd and he was not going to leave USC for the dumpster fire we had with bozo coaches running it at the time.

I can see Tee as a "QB coach / Recruiting Coord". I'm not sure where else he fits. I believe we're set at WR coach. If most on here are correct and JG hasn't improved all season, then doesn't that spell problems at the QB coach level? If so, I believe CJP is on top of it and planning to amend it.

Quite frankly, I don't think CJP should have ever let Robert Gillespie go. The man was a monster recruiter and our running backs were top notch.

Agreed. I remember thinking that was his best “hire” (keeping RG).... not sure what happened there but he was definitely missed.
