Tee coming home...

A simple no would have been sufficient. But the fact he was wearing USC gear while flying in for his interview and then trashing Hurd on national TV for signing with us are another thing. I think Tennessee looked like the best offer for him now because his options were that weak.

That’s your interpretation.... from all reports I have read.... we low balled him a ridiculous offer.... he is a great position coach.... even better recruiter and a VFL....today is a good day.... woooo

I honestly don’t see how this is a good fit unless we are losing or canning our WR coach. Good for recruiting but outside of that, not sure what the big deal is about this hire outside of an “alum coming home” narrative.

I guess we needed some UT folks on the staff considering the Bama blood we have in Pruitt? Lmao

Just amazing that people are super stoked about an alum who spurned us twice publicly and trashed our recruits on national signing day on national TV......
Likely a fantasy I know, but if Pruitt someday turns down the Bama job will you think less of him?

Both times Tee passed on us before were good career moves. He'd have anchored himself to a sinking ship both times.

Sticking it out and getting a coordinator's contact was a good decision.

The deal has not been so public so only a few know what it was.

With that said, showing up in USC gear and bashing a recruit on National TV are bigger issues in my opinion.

And I don’t think it’s fair to say he knew in advance he was gonna get lowballed and that’s why he wore USC gear. If he knew he was getting lowballed, he wouldn’t have made the trip.

I just find it hilarious the about face people are doing. I think he would be a good addition, but it looks more likely he actually jumped at Tennessee this go around because the rest of his offers weren’t great.

both can be true. Find it hilarious the all or nothing crowd is at full tilt right now.

Hoping the media reporting of Tee's attitude in the past was incorrect, for if it was I don't see this as a good move. Always want the best for our Vols and if Tee really supports our HC then I'm all in.

So, this makes Doug Mathews wrong yet again regarding staff changes. We all know about how incredibly wrong he was with his “95% done” comment. He also said last week, quite indignantly, that Tee Martin would not be joining this staff. Well done Doug.

Welcome home Tee Martin!

Lets face it, if Bama goes after Pruitt, it’s means a few things:

-Dabo said no
-Kirby said no
-Bama going after Pruitt means Tennessee has had success we haven’t had in over decade. If Bama is chasing Pruitt, they would be settling with him although he would be the home grown coach, they could steal a coach from a rival, and Tennessee is winning.

If Pruitt turned down Bama, I’m stoked because he will have chosen to stay apart of a winning program.

However, that situation and Tee’s have zero comparison

I have a feeling his official title will be more than just as an assistant. He will either be named Co-Offensive Coordinator, Recruiting Coordinator, or something else.

Recruiting Coordinator or Assistant HC(doesn't mean a lot these days) would be good choices. Co-oc would not be a good look. We had to pay Chaney a ton of money to be co-oc, I'm not buying that.

I’m a “so called fan” yet you have zero response to my post besides name calling.

You sound just like the guy who was Full Butch because saying anything that may be interpreted as one ounce of criticism is “detrimental to the program.”

Fun fact: you can be a Vol fan yet not agree with the Head Coach 100% of the time.

Here’s why it’s an amazing hire

1. He’s as excellent as there is in devolping WRs if that is his role.

2. Probably the biggest upside is recruiting. He’s an ELITE recruiter and that’s the number one thing we need right now. And now double that because he’s recruiting for HIS SCHOOL, the 5 stars he’s going to pull in...just wait.

3. He’s home. Call it “spurning” us all you want. But if you want to blame Tee for turning down a laughable offer, and pleasing his wife as “spurning” us then I don’t know what you want me to see. He did what was best for him and his wife. Plus it’s no secret UT low balled him and on top of that he should be praised for not wanting to ruin his career under Butch freakin Jones.

4. UT is finally making hires that show its serious about getting this thing fixed!
