Can tell you 100% there was. That’s one way that Tech got people sewn up well before the portal opened last year. They went through the travel ball network and figured out whose parents weren’t happy, even if the kids were. People that are happy don’t entertain offers midseason that don’t allow you to wait for the season to play out or to see if your current school will counter.

Again, people in softball aren’t mad that Texas Tech is paying a lot of young women a lot of money to play a game that there was no money in five years ago. They are mad at how they went about it, doing things like that. It is what it is at this point, but people are angry because of the way they’re doing it, not that they are doing it.

Right! If a booster wants to pony up $25m/year for a couple of runner-up plaques, good for him.

I have watched Jayden closely. She can pitch really good at times but other times doesn't have her full array going for her and then the opponent starts to read her. However, her biggest issue is that she just seems to lose it mentally. It wasn't necessarily at times that it seemed especially stressful, but she would just go in after dominating and perhaps even having a big lead in the middle innings and it is if she doesn't know how to throw a strike anymore, not even close. Other times, with the bases loaded with no outs, she will get out of the inning with no runs scored. She has been one of the hardest players to understand mentally that I have ever followed. I doubt a change a venue will help, though perhaps a good sports psychologist might.

She was a diva all through travel before and after her jump to Unity Ross. Over hyped player who struggled to win one championship in HS at the lowest classification. She’s never been dominant but always was able to level up and not down.
