Taylor Pannell

She accused Coach Weekly of saying she shouldn’t have transferred during the handshake. Weekly strongly denied it.

“We were walking through the [handshake] line, and she said that I made a mistake instead of saying, 'Good game,' which is kind of crazy," Pannell said. "Like, celebrate with your team. I just think it's funny she's still thinking about it. It's old news. Whatever."

Sounds like Pannell has fit right in with the garbage athletic program at TTU.
So, what if that's Coach Weekly's opinion? Good on her for telling her! She's a mercenary, just like all the mercenaries. No such thing as a true commitment to a college anymore. They're all just guns for hire. We owe them nothing. When a cheap money-backed program (a sh!t program with no history in real college athletics) shows up throwing wads of cash around, we know things really need to change. Do-nothing Congress???

This is the kinds d of drama that consumes our mind and heart and produces anger, bitterness, and destory our peace and joy. Really, who cares? Lets go win this championship with honor and dignity. This ole saying seems to apply here: “When you wrestle with a pig you both get muddy BUT the pig doesn’t mind”

You're too sensible to be on this forum.

I agree with this in general but after her dad came here and showed his rear end after he left (and was consistently trashing the program while she was here), they deserve a thrashing.

And then to lie through your teeth at the post game presser? You can’t always expect people to take the high road.

She’s immature, young, a tad narcissistic and chased the money. Camera caught her rolling her eyes when she was on second base and Coach was making a lineup change in left field. She later scored and Vols won the game. She said vs she said…someone’s a sore loser…best of luck to her in life

Look at this from the 30K foot view ... Even if an opposing coach really did taunt you in a handshake line ... unless you have nefarious intent , why would you go to the press and talk about it? I don't know if anybody said anything or not. But what I do know is that this young lady doesn't appear to have much character.

Yesterday was the ugly side of NIL. Regardless of what was said, not said it’s an ugly business when two parties meet again. Tennessee cuts players all the time and it’s never in question but when a player like Pannell leaves it shows the impact. She did what was best for her and Tennessee found a way to not miss a beat.

I know it looks bad, but teams just need to walk away and not go through the handshake process when playing TTU. They invent drama - trouble with this game is that they lost and that their pitcher was the one hitting players with the pitch.
Can’t allow douche bag behavior to affect your inner peace. Just take the high road and let it play out.

As much as I love this sentiment the accusation from Pannell is front page on ESPN right now. We didn't get to choose whether to care, or at least the coaches don't.

The problem isn’t Taylor transferring, it’s the fact she already knew she was transferring while playing in the CWS for us. She should have been 100% locked in for her team, not already planning her exit. There’s a way to handle it and she did it in the most BS way imaginable.

If they meet again in this WS, expect ABC to thoroughly exploit the hades out of it.
