Taron Dickens ????

There's a kid that played at Western Carolina this past season he's going to be a JR and he's in the portal. Taron Dickens, he had 3500 yards passing led FCS w 38 pass tds and only 2 int. He had a QB rating of 188.2
He did all of this only playing in nine games.

The kid can also scramble when need be. He is only 5'11 185 but at this point IDC. We need a 3rd QB and he is in the portal. Probably wouldn't cost us a lot and he isn't young enough to scare FB or GMAC off.
I feel like this kid's definitely worth taking a look at he could provide depth with experience and I think he actually could possibly start this year and maybe at least buy some time for Faizon or GMAC to develop a little more.

I mean it worked out great this year for Ole Miss. I feel like this kid could really do well here. I saw he led FCS in Yard,TDS, Efficiency and only played in 9 games!!! I didn't know about the 46/46 consecutive completions, that's freaking insane!!

Gotta be missing something...Why hasn't anyone signed him yet?? Bcuz he's 5'11"?? Idk but Idc if he is 5' if he put up those kinds numbers it's definitely worth taking a shot on. I think he is a much better fit in our offense then JA was. He doesn't turn the ball over much as his stats show and he is actually quite fast and can really scramble just didn't really have to bcuz he was to busy dropping dimes on the DBs.

IMAGINE HIM IN HEUPELS OFFENSE W OUR WEAPONS!! I really hope we sign him and bring him into compete w our guys.

Doesnt have a whole lot of video. From the one video I watched I would pass. He is smaller and his arm is not strong by any means. Seems to throw off his back foot a lot and has no zip on any of his passes. Only caveat would be to bring him in for depth and to compete for the starting spot if we dont find a clear starter in the portal.

He does not have the arm strength to play in the SEC. Watch his highlights. Looks like a HS QB.
You are probably right—I am no expert. But aren’t 80% or more of the throws over the last few years under 25 yards. He seems to be better at those than most quarterbacks. And he appears to scramble well.

I’m not saying Heupel should choose him. He knows what he wants in a QB, and I defer to his judgment.
