Owens is no longer a 4*

Mostella is still not cleared

And Missouri is a middle of the pack team in the conference you were just dogging, no?

I heard someone suggest that he may have been dropped to 3* due to his choice of school (Ohio). They were saying that sometimes influences the ratings. Strange if true.

Still reminds me of a taller Tyrus Thomas who came to LSU at 6'9 180lbs out of high school, redshirted, gained 20 pounds and was one of the most athletic, dynamic players in basketball by the end of his redshirt freshman season.

All I read about Owens says he's also extremely athletic like Owens, who managed to dominate the paint by being a high riser, faster off the floor than anyone else.

I must echo Sparta, yes I will be attending more games this year. TBA will seem like it's been cleansed, fresh air, fresh feet traipsing the court. The Pearl years will be put to rest, CCM did what's best for him, and Donnie has a fresh start. We need to support these young men.

EDIT: Welcome aboard Tariq!

That is interesting, guess you're the first to notice that. So physically he should actually be more ready to contribute than your typical freshman, and shouldn't look like your typical 6'11" freshman does, like a new born horse.

I would love for Owens to be able to redshirt, doubt it happens tho

Yes, that is exactly what it said. 190lbs. Nothing a little strength and conditioning and nutritional program won't fix. Shaq gained 50 lbs between high school and college and another 25 going to the pros. Relax.

So he was 250-275 when he was in high school

I don't know how it is possible to be 6'10" and weigh 190.

Tariq:

"Their style of play, it fits me well. They get up and down the court and press. Coach Tyndall said they press, fall back and pressures the offense on D. It sounds like the type of system I want to play in.

Haven't heard this in a while.

How would Martin describe his style to prospects? And how many of them fell asleep during his pitch?

So Owens is less of a player now? What skills decreased and made him drop? And mizzou isn't a mid major or low major team. They chose a bad coach in Haith.
In terms of rankings once you finish high school your ranking tends to drop. So if you do a post grad year they do not keep your rankings or star ratings. Sometimes rankings are over rated. Are you a ball player and have you reached your ceiling is the question? Do you have a upside and can you get better? Some kids peak in HS and can not get better. Hopefully that's not the case with none of the 8 UT has coming in with this class.

it's just silly that he was rated higher before, is now more experienced and stronger, and rated lower

I agree about those rankings. I know of some guys who went PG and never got back in the rankings. IMO in rankings certain HS, prep, PG and AAU programs makes a difference.

Maybe his game regressed?

Not saying it did, but is that not a possibility?

The most likely scenario is that he was probably ranked mostly on potential initially, and that he didn't end up living up to that.
