Muah, hah, hah! Alas, my project is complete!

I know it may not look like much, but it was a real pain in the (hoo-hoo). As close to perfect as my amateur printmaking and a little help from Kinko's can do. And, yes, that's O151.

That's pretty darn cool.

The question is . . . do you reach up and hit it every time you walk under it? :D

Yeah, would you share the process?  I would love to have one too.

I designed it using Publisher, with a template picture to match up the font and character size/spacing. It wasn't too difficult -- the font is Times New Roman, Bold Italic, size 250. You have to play with the character spacing to get it to fit right. The total size is 10x30". Color O151.

Then, I took it to Kinko's and had it printed on Matte paper, mounted on foamcore and laminated (cost $30). The trimming was the tough part (the print was a rectangle); I used an exacto knife and a t-square for the top, the sides are freehand.

There you go -- happy designing and good luck! There's plenty of time before kickoff. :good:

Great Job Doc! My little wood working project got put on hold (family health problems, nothing serious just time consuming) but as soon as I get mine done I'll post it, of course you could just whip me out one like yours and save me the trouble!

So did Kinkos have that color of paper, or did you have to paint it?

:laugh1: No, but they do have white paper and can print the background orange.

Could you send me your saved project in MS Publisher? I am trying to make one for my boyfriend for his birthday. He'll be so surprised!

pretty cool...

might want to take it down, cut out the drywall and add some support beams.. then reseal the drywall and put the sign back up...

then you can smack it to your heart's content without worrying about damaging the wall?

heh. :)
